The 5-seed UConn won the most exciting game of any conference tournament and improved their NCAA Tournament hopes after defeating the 4-seed Cincinnati Bearcats, 104-97, in the quadruple OT. The Huskies looked like they had no chance falling behind by three with just 0.8 seconds left to play in the third-OT however, Jalen Adams of the Huskies nailed a three-quarter court shot to force the 4th OT in which the Huskies would go on to win.  UConn shot 43.9% from the field and 38.5% (10-26) from beyond the arc. The top-seeded Temple Owls had little trouble advancing after easily defeating the South Florida Bulls, 79-62, on Friday afternoon. The Temple Owls opened up the game on a 23-9 run and outscored the Bulls by a 44-35 margin in the 2nd half in the victory. Temple shot 45.3% from the field and won the turnover battle by a 15-9 margin. The Owls allowed the Bulls to shoot 47.3% from the field and 44.4% (4-9) from beyond the arc. Leading the way for Temple was Jaylen Bond who had 17 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals. On the season, the Owls have been led by Quenton DeCosey (15.7 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 2.6 apg, 1.2 spg), Obi Enechionyia (11.4 ppg, 3.8 rpg), and Jaylen Bond (9.7 ppg, 8.3 rpg, 1.4 apg). Offensively, Temple is averaging 68.5 ppg on 40.5% shooting from the field and 34.2% shooting from beyond the arc. The Owls average 7.9 three-pointers per game and have an assist/turnover ratio of 1.47. Defensively, Temple is holding their opponents to an average of 67.3 ppg on 41.2% shooting. The Owls have a rebound margin of -1.6 and a turnover margin of 1.8.

The Huskies are 4-0 ATS in thier last 4 scoring 100 points or more in their previous game and 34-16-1 ATS in their last 51 neutral site games. THe Owls are 4-0 ATS in thier last 4 neutral stie games and 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record and 19-8 ATS in thier last 27 games following a ATS win.

Temple was able to defeat UConn in both matchups this season as the Owls won a 55-53 battle on the road and a 63-58 matchup at home. Both of these teams are two of the best defensive teams in the country and at times, can struggle on the offensive end. UConn is ranked 10th in the country in scoring defense and 5th in defensive FG%. Temple is ranked 69th in the country in scoring defense and 61st in defensive FG%. I imagine UConn will be feeling the effects of their 4-OT game from today, and as I think Temple will be favored at most by a couple of points, I’m initially leaning towards taking Temple. I will also be interested in seeing where the O/U ends up as I can see this one being a real low scoring game. Please check back for updates when the line is posted.

Update: UConn is actually favored by a couple in this one and as I mentioned last night, as I believe the Huskies will struggle on the offensive end from the effects of their 4-OT thriller against Cincinnati, I like Temple to win in this one. I'm taking Temple on the M/L.
