The top ranked North Carolina Tar Heels face the upset minded Syracuse Orange in the Final Four.
The Syracuse Orange probably aren’t hearing they don’t belong in the NCAA tournament much nowadays since they are in the Final Four after dominating the second half in a 68-62 victory versus ACC foe Virginia. The Orange looked dead in the water facing a 14 point hole heading to the locker room before exploding for a 47-27 run over the final 20 minutes. Overall the Cavaliers had a 41.5%-36.8% shooting edge but this game was decided at the stripe where the Cuse sank ten more free throws. Malachi Richardson led the Orange with a game high 23 points and seven boards with Michael Gbnije and Tyler Lydon tossing in eleven points each. Tyler Robinson and Trevor Cooney combined for 18 points with Robinson snagging eight rebounds.

The North Carolina Tar Heels have tended to play things close to the vest in the first half of this season’s NCAA tournament before turning on the jets in the second halves to win each game easily. That trend repeated itself once again in an 88-74 victory over Notre Dame with a 45-36 second half run breaking open a competitive contest. The Fighting Irish burned the nets at 55% but the Tar Heels were even better at 61.5% which equaled five more field goals to go along with nine more free throws. UNC received 25 points and 12 rebounds from Brice Johnson on 10-15 with Marcus Paige tossing in 13. Justin Jackson and Joel Berry II netted eleven points each while Kennedy Meeks chipped in with ten points.
The over is 12-4-1 in Syracuse last 17 neutral site games and Syracuse are 15-35-2 ATS in their last 52 Saturday games while the under is 9-4 in their last 13 Saturday games. North Carolina are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall and the under is 13-5 in their last 18 vs. Atlantic Coast while the over is 23-10 in their last 33 neutral site games. The way Syracuse is winning it’s tough to say without hesitation that Carolina wins but that’s how I see it…
