The George Washington Colonials looks to defend home court for the 2nd time in as many games when they host the Siena Saints on Tuesday night.
The Siena Saints kicked off their season on a high note with a victory over the Cornell Big Red by a final score of 89-78. Only 6 Saints found themselves on the scoresheet in the victory, with 4 putting up double digits. Leading the way for Siena was Marquis Wright, who connected on half of his 18 field goal attempts in the game, including 4 for 8 from downtown and 9 of 11 from the charity stripe for 31 points. Brett Bisping followed close behind, posting his 1st double-double of the season with 23 points on 8-11 shooting, including going 3-3 from deep and 4 of 5 from the line while pulling down 15 rebounds. Nico Clareth and Javion Ogunyemi posted 14 and 13 points respectively to round out the quartet for the Saints, while Clareth made just 5 of his 17 attempts from the floor, including 3 for 10 from beyond the arc, Ogunyemi was much more efficient, going 4 for 8 with 5 makes in 6 trips to the foul line. As a team, Siena is shooting 41.8% from the floor, just under 38% from 3-point range and 73.3% from the foul line.

The George Washington Colonials also claimed victory in their season opener, however it was by a narrow 75-71 margin over Maryland-Eastern Shore. Tyler Cavanaugh and Yuta Watanabe were the only Colonials to put up double digits in the scoring column, with Cavanaugh logging a double-double by posting 24 points on 6 of 12 shooting including 3 for 7 from deep and a perfect 9 of 9 from the free throw line to go along with 10 rebounds. Watanabe was efficient in his own right, putting up 18 points on 3 of 4 from the floor including a pair of makes from downtown, but what really pushed his statline was his 10 makes from his 12 attempts from the free throw line. As a team, the Colonials are shooting 42.2% from the field including 36.4% from 3-point range and 85.3% from the foul line.
Siena is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games following an ATS loss and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall, while the under is 3-0-1 in their last 4 vs. the A-10. George Washington is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 overall and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 vs. the MAAC while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 non-conference games.
This is a hard one to call as both teams faced subpar competition in their opening contest. However, Siena had more players show up while if it wasn’t for Cavanaugh and Watanabe, GW would be 0-1 right now. It’s a lean at beast but I’ll side with Siena.
