The Mississippi State Bulldogs tangle with the Boise State Broncos in college basketball Friday evening.
The Mississippi State Bulldogs came in to the season with some missing parts and I think we saw that in Thursday’s 86-61 loss to Central Florida where both ends of the floor struggled to produce. The Bulldogs dug themselves a 20 point hole heading to the locker room as a four point favorite and that was game, set and match. The Knights sank half their looks and MSU mustered just 32% from the floor for a decisive difference of 12 baskets. The Bulldogs needed more scoring options with 19 points and seven boards coming from Quinndary Weatherspoon with IJ Ready adding 15 points but the rest of the team contributed just 27 points.

The Boise State Broncos also have the label of a team that graduated too much talent from a great squad from last year to be a factor in the Mountain West. The Broncos defense was up to snuff in a 60-47 defeat at the hands of Charleston but the offense struggled. BSU was outshot 40%-34.6% with a 4-21 performance on threes and 13 fewer makes at the stripe causing more then enough damage. Chandler Hutchison was the Broncos biggest threat with a contest high 24 points and 12 rebounds with Nick Duncan adding nine points but the remainder of the team managed 14 points and it’s tough to win with those numbers.
The under is 8-1 in Boise State last 9 non-conference games and the over is 15-4 in Boise State last 19 Friday games while Boise State are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 Friday games.
I think is a choice between bad and worse but I hate to say that so early in the season but we’ll find out what Vegas thinks when a line is released…
