It’s pretty easy to find UT Arlington’s key players; Jalen Jones leads the way so far this year with 17.0 PPG and 2.0 RPG. Kevin Hervey and Erick Neal are also averaging in double figures, with Hervey logging 12.3 PPG and 7.3 RPG and Neal holding 10.0 PPG with 6.7 APG and 4.0 RPG.
Over on the Arkansas side, they’re coming in with a 2-0 record on the young season. the Razorbacks took their opener 92-83 over IPFW, then made it two in a row with a 90-65 win over the Southern Illinois Salukis. In that game, Arkansas had a huge 56-25 lead at the half, and 10 players on the team managed to score.
So far this season for Arkansas, Dusty Hannahs is the scoring leader on 21.0 PPG with 3.0 RPG, while Daryl Macon is a distant second with 12.5 PPG, 5.0 APG and 4.5 RPG. Moses Kingsley and CJ Jones are also in double-figure averages for the Razorbacks, with Kingsley holding 12.0 PPG and 8.0 RPG and Jones sitting on 11.0 PPG.
UT Arlington is 5-1 ATS in their last six Friday games, and 12-3 ATS in their last 15 non-conference games. UT Arlington is also 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games overall, and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games following a straight-up loss.
Meanwhile, Arkansas is 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games following a straight-up win, and 6-2 ATS in their last eight non-conference games. Arkansas is also 6-2 ATS in their last eight games versus the Sun Belt and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games following an ATS win.
Arkansas was on fire against Southern Illinois, shooting 58.3 percent in the first half. The Razorbacks put on a 3-point clinic as well, with Hannahs hitting five of his six attempts from outside the arc. I wouldn’t count on that type of production on a game-by-game basis, but credit Arkansas for going with what was working. The Razorbacks outmatch UT Arlington in just about every area, so realistically this shouldn’t be much of a challenge. I’ll take Arkansas to cover.
