USA TODAY Sports

Samford’s top scorer this year is Demetrius Dyson, with 18.0 PPG and 5.3 RPG. Wyatt Walker is also averaging in double figures for the Bulldogs, with 14.2 PPG and 13.5 RPG for a double-double, while Alex Thompson isn’t too far off the pace on 9.8 PPG and 4.0 RPG.

Over on the St. Louis side, they’re coming into Tuesday with a 2-3 record this year. The Billikens dropped their opener to Ball State 85-64, then rattled off wins over Southern Utah 88-76 and Eastern Illinois 74-69. St. Louis then dropped their most recent two games 92-62 against BYU and 62-57 against Alabama.

Dave Roby is the Billikens’ top scorer so far with 13.4 PPG, 3.4 RPG and 3.0 APG. St. Louis has two more players averaging in double figures in Reggie Agbeko (12.8 PPG; 10.2 RPG) and Jermaine Bishop (11.6 PPG; 4.2 APG).

Samford is 4-0 ATS in their last four road games, and 5-0 ATS in their last five games overall. Samford is also 2-8 ATS in their last 10 games following a straight-up loss, and 18-7-1 ATS in their last 26 non-conference games.

As for St. Louis, they’re 5-2 ATS in their last seven games following a straight-up loss, and 23-47-1 ATS in their last 71 games overall. St. Louis is also 11-26-1 ATS in their last 38 home games, and 7-20 ATS in their last 27 games following an ATS win.

There’s really not a whole lot to get jazzed about here if you’re not a fan of either team. Both Samford and St. Louis feature some dynamic players—namely Wyatt Walker and Reggie Agbeko—who will be the main attractions in this game. All things considered, Samford has a little more strength up top and should be able to control the boards and the paint pretty well here. I’ll take the Bulldogs to cover.
