Coming up on Wednesday from Fred Bramlage Coliseum in Manhattan, we’ve got college basketball action headed our way as the Green Bay Phoenix visit the Kansas State Wildcats.
Green Bay comes into this game with a 3-3 record on the season. The Phoenix won their opener against Northland College, then dropped two in a row to Murray State and Pacific. Green Bay then rattled off two wins over Bowling Green and UMKC before falling to Central Michigan in their most recent appearance.

Leading the way for the Phoenix in scoring this year is Charles Cooper with 13.5 PPG, while Trevor Anderson isn’t far behind on 12.8 PPG. Khalil Small and Warren Jones are also averaging in double-figures for Green Bay, with Small holding 12.2 PPG and 6.0 RPG, and Jones sitting on 10.2 PPG.
Kansas State comes into this game with a 5-1 record on the season. the Wildcats rattled off victories over Western Illinois, Nebraska Omaha, Hampton, Robert Morris and Boston College to start the season, but dropped a heartbreaker 69-68 to Maryland in their last game.
Barry Brown is the top scorer for Kansas State, with 14.2 PPG, while Wesley Iwundu isn’t far back on 13.3 PPG and 6.0 RPG. DJ Johnson and Kamau Stokes are also averaging in double-figures for the Wildcats; Johnson has 11.0 PPG with 6.8 RPG and Stokes has 11.0 PPG.
Green Bay is 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games following a straight-up loss, and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games following an ATS loss. Green Bay is also 9-4-2 ATS in their last 15 games overall, and 4-0 ATS in their last four games following a double-digit loss at home.
Meanwhile, Kansas State is 4-10 ATS in their last 14 Wednesday games, and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall. Kansas State is also 1-4 ATS in their last five games following an ATS loss, and the under is 4-1 in the Wildcats’ last five home games.
All signs here point to a big Kansas State victory, and I’m inclined to agree. The Wildcats haven’t quite faced elite competition this season, but this game shouldn’t be a challenge either. I’ll take the Wildcats to cover here in a wall-to-wall victory and a solid all-around effort from the entire roster.
