The Siena Saints will travel to the Reilly Center to take on the St. Bonaventure Bonnies this Wednesday night in College Basketball action.
The Siena Saints dropped to 2-4 on the season after being defeated by the Albany Great Danes, 81-72, this past Sunday. Siena has no answers on the offensive end early in this one and couldn’t fight back after being down by a 38-20 margin at halftime. Siena allowed Albany to shoot 51.9% from the field and 50.0% (6-12) from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Saints was Marquis Wright who had 18 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists. On the season, Siena is averaging 74.5 ppg on 45.1% shooting. The Saints are averaging 6.5 three-pointers per game on 33.9% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Siena has been led by Marquis Wright (19.5 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 4.2 apg), Javion Ogunyemi (14.8 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 2.0 apg, 2.7 bpg), Nico Clareth (14.7 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 2.0 apg), and Lavon Long (14.0 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 3.3 apg). Defensively, Siena is allowing their opponents to average 76.2 ppg on 47.3% shooting from the field. Siena has struggled on the boards as they currently rank 279th in College Basketball with a rebound margin of -3.3.

The St. Bonaventure Bonnies won their 2nd straight game and improved to 3-2 on the season after they defeated Pepperdine Waves, 89-63, this past Wednesday. St. Bonaventure went into halftime with a 42-40 lead and used an 8-0 run early in the 2nd half to create some separation and secure the victory. St. Bonaventure was outstanding on the offensive end as they shot 50.7% from the field and 50.0% (12-24) from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Bonnies was Matt Mobley who had a double-double with 24 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists. On the season, St. Bonaventure is averaging 82.8 ppg on 47.4% shooting from the field. The Bonnies average 7.6 ppg on 35.5% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, St. Bonaventure has been led by Matt Mobley (23.2 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 3.2 apg, 1.4 spg), Jaylen Adams (20.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg, 6.0 apg, 2.4 spg), Denzel Gregg (11.6 ppg, 6.4 rpg, 1.2 bpg), and Idris Taqqee (8.0 ppg, 6.2 rpg, 2.0 apg). Defensively, St. Bonaventure is allowing their opponents to average 71.4 ppg on 41.1% shooting from the field.
The Saints are 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 games following a straight up loss however, just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record. The Bonnies are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up win however, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.
Siena might be just 2-4 on the season but the Saints are going to be one of the best teams in the MAAC on the season as Siena returns all five starters from a team that finished 21-13 last season. St. Bonaventure has one of the best backcourts in the A-10 in Matt Mobley and Jaylen Adams however, don’t have much depth as they have 4-players that are averaging 30+ minutes per game. St. Bonaventure is a tough place to play but as Javion Ogunyemi should be able to slow down either Mobley or Adams, I think the Saints will do enough in this one to cover with the points. Take Siena and the points.
