Kansas State Wildcats Vs. Delaware Blue Hens
11/21/12 Mark’s Free College Basketball Pick Against the Spread
Delaware is off to one of their best starts in recent years and scored a 59-53 victory over Virginia of the ACC. A very strong first half and some clutch foul shooting in the closing minutes fueled the Blue Hens upset. Delaware held a 28-15 lead at the break despite mediocre 42.6% shooting and a 5-16 effort from distance. Virginia failed to make any headway because their shooting touch was off as well with 35.1% marksmanship and a 4-16 mark from long range. Foul shooting was the difference with the Blue Hens nailing 14-17 to hold off a Cavaliers rally. Devon Saddler pumped in 15 points followed by a 14 point, five pull effort by Jarvis Threatt while Jamelle Hagins chipped in with ten points and a monster 16 rebounds.
Kansas State started off a bit slow against North Florida but once the Wildcats got going, there was no stopping them. A 40-26 halftime bulge ended in 74-55 victory with K-State having too much size and strength. Although neither team shot much more than 37% from the floor, the Wildcats wiped the glass clean with a 52-28 advantage including a whopping 27 offensive pulls which led to eleven more looks with 22 Ospreys personals turning in to 21 makes at the line. Roney McGruder led the KSU scoring parade with a game high 16 points with Thomas Gipson adding 12 points and nine rebounds off the bench. Nino Williams chipped in with ten points as eleven of the 12 players that saw the floor found the scoring column.
I always start off by saying I'm a Delaware fan and a win over Kansas State would be our biggest victory ever. The fan part of me is just worried sick and the gambler in me doesn't care about the money. I'm backing my Hens but in my heart I don't know if this stays below 12 points...
Mark’s Pick: Delaware +8 up to 9-would wait for more
