The Alabama A&M Bulldogs will travel to the Al Lawson Center to take on the Florida A&M Rattlers this Monday night in College Basketball action.

The Alabama A&M Bulldogs won their 3rd straight game and improved to 8-16 on the season after defeating the Bethune-Cookman Wildcats, 62-60, this past Saturday. Alabama A&M trailed by a 32-28 margin at halftime, however, the Bulldogs were solid defensively in the 2nd half and Alabama A&M was able to pull away after a pair of FT’s by EJ Williams gave the Bulldogs a 61-57 lead with just :17 seconds left in regulation. Alabama A&M shot 45.7% from the field & 16.7% from beyond the arc while allowing Bethune-Cookman who had 32.3% from the field & 42.9% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Bulldogs was Cameron Tucker who had 15 points, 5 rebounds, & 4 assists.

On the season, Alabama A&M is averaging 60.3 ppg on 37.9% shooting from the field. The Bulldogs are averaging 3.8 three-pointers per game on 25.9% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Alabama A&M has been led by Jalen Johnson (15.7 ppg, 6.9 rpg, 1.1 spg), Garrett Hicks (13.8 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 1.0 apg, 2.1 spg), Dailin Smith (7.7 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 1.0 apg, 1.3 spg), & Cameron Tucker (7.3 ppg, 3.8 rpg, 4.0 apg).

Defensively, Alabama A&M is allowing their opponents to average of 68.5 ppg on 41.3% shooting from the field. The Bulldogs have a rebound margin of -3.5 and a turnover margin of 0.4.

The Florida A&M Rattlers snapped their 2-game losing streak and improved to 11-14 on the season after defeating the Alabama State Hornets, 86-83 (OT), this past Saturday. Florida A&M allowed Alabama State to fight back from a 69-61 deficit with 4:54 left in regulation to force OT, however, the Rattlers were able to take the lead for good after a Kamron Reaves three-pointer game Florida A&M an 81-78 lead with :58 seconds left in OT. Florida A&M shot 58.5% from the field & 37.5% from beyond the arc while allowing Alabama State to shoot 41.0% from the field & 53.3% from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Rattlers was MJ Randolph who had 30 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists, & 2 steals.

On the season, Florida A&M is averaging 64.8 ppg on 43.1% shooting from the field. The Rattlers are averaging 4.3 three-pointers per game on 30.3% shooting from beyond the arc. Offensively, Florida A&M has been led by MJ Randolph (19.2 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 3.8 apg, 2.1 spg), Bryce Moragne (10.0 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 1.6 apg, 1.2 spg), DJ Jones (7.6 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 1.2 bpg), & Kamron Reaves (7.5 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 2.4 apg, 1.0 spg).

Defensively, Florida A&M is allowing their opponents to average 69.1 ppg on 42.7% shooting from the field. The Rattlers have a rebound margin of -3.3 and a turnover margin of 0.0.

The Bulldogs are 5-11-1 ATS in their last 17 road games vs. a team with a winning home record & 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 road games. The Rattlers are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games following a straight up win & 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400.

Alabama A&M has picked up some decent wins as of late, however, this is still a team that ranks just 344th in scoring offense & 349th in FG% while posting just a 3-14 road record. Florida A&M was able to pick up a 65-60 win on the road against Alabama A&M earlier this season and between the fact that the Rattlers defense should give Alabama A&M trouble and that the duo of MJ Randolph & Kamron Reaves will have some success offensively on their home court, I think the play here is to take Florida A&M to cover this mid-range spread. Good Luck!
