Minnesota Golden Gophers (21-12) vs Ohio State Buckeyes (26-7)Big Ten Tournament Conseco Fieldhouse Indianapolis, INCollege Basketball: Saturday March 14, 2010 3:30 PM ESTOhio State - 4Ohio State and Minnesota meet to decide the Big Ten Championship as they play the last game of the NCAA Basketball season before the brackets are released. Ohio State has been the number one seed in the Big Ten but they have really had to reach down deep to reach this point in the conference tournament. Evan Turner's prayer against Michigan answered the prayers of the Buckeye fans and then OSU followed it up double overtime win over a scrappy Illinois team. Evan Turned had 31 points and 10 rebounds and while he has good company in the likes of David Lighty, William Buford and others, this is clearly Turner's team and the Bucks will go as far as he takes them. Ohio State averages 73.8 points per game as they shoot 49.4 percent from the floor which is fifth best in the country. Defensively Ohio State is equally as tough as they shoot 41 percent from and hold teams to 61.2 percent from the floor. The Buckeyes have won games every way possible and they should be a one or two seed in the Big Dance. Minnesota has been on a roll this post season as they blasted Purdue in a game that was never close. The Gophers blasted Purdue early and never looked back. It's been a march through the teams that finished tied for first in the Big Ten as they have now defeated Michigan State and Purdue and look to topple the third in this match up. Colton Iverson has been outstanding off the bench and Devoe Jospeh has been a leader both with his play and emotion. Minnesota has the stats that stack up with anyone as they average 73.3 point per game and they shoot a more than respectable 47.4 percent from the floor. Defensively the Gophers allow 63.2 points per game as they shoot 39.7 percent from the field. Minnesota has played themselves from the bubble to a decent seeding in the Big Dance. Ohio State is 7-3 against the spread in their last 10 games against a team with a winning record but they are just 1-4 against the spread in neutral site games. Minnesota has covered in their last four against Big Ten teams and they are 5-1 against the spread in their last six as an underdog. The favorite has covered eight in a row in this series. Momentum is a scary thing and Minnesota has it right now, OSU has proven the ability to find a way to win which they may need to do here. Even finding that way won't be enough to cover. Mitch's Pick: Minnesota + 4
