Chattanooga vs Belmont 12/18/22 College Basketball Picks, Predictions, Odds

The Belmont Bruins and the Chattanooga Mocs meet in college basketball action from the McKenzie Arena on Sunday afternoon.

The Belmont Bruins will try to rebound from an 85-75 OT loss to Middle Tennessee last time out. Ben Sheppard leads the Bruins in scoring and assists with 20.6 PPG and 3.6 APG along with 4.3 RPG while Drew Friberg and Cade Tyson each have 13+ PPG to make up the trio of double-digit scorers for Belmont up to this point in the season. Even Brauns also has a team-high 4.9 RPG to lead Belmont in rebounding this season. As a team, Chattanooga is averaging 82 PPG on 48% shooting from the field, 39.8% from behind the arc and 73.2% from the foul line this season.

Belmont is 0-8-1 ATS in their last 9 games against a team with a winning record and 1-7-1 ATS in their last 9 road games while the under is 6-0 in their last 6 games following a double-digit loss at home. Chattanooga is 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games following a win while the over is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall.

I get the case to be made for Belmont as an underdog as some folks are still hanging onto the Belmont of old, but this isn’t the same Belmont team that we were cashing with in years past. Chattanooga’s the better team here in my opinion and the Bruins have had major issues covering the number in road situations this season. Give me the Mocs laying the points.
