The Oklahoma Sooners will be looking for a win on Saturday when the Sooners head to Lubbock to face off against the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
The Texas Tech Red Raiders are having one of their worst seasons in recent memory as the Red Raiders are nine games back in the Big 12 with an appalling conference record of 0-11. The Red Raiders have not only struggled in conference play this season, but overall the Red Raiders are just 7-16 on the year. Texas Tech comes into this weekend's match-up with the Sooners having lost eleven games in a row, and in their last outing the Red Raiders were handled by the Kansas State Jayhawks 65-46. Texas Tech is scoring just 61 points per game on the year, giving The Red Raiders one of the worst offenses in the league by far.
The Oklahoma Sooners are currently six games back in the Big 12 conference as the Sooners have a conferee record of just 3-8, while sitting at 13-10 overall on the season. Oklahoma has lost three games in a row coming into Saturday's match-up with the Red Raiders, but the Sooners have had a tough road in those three games as OU has played, Kansas, Iowa State and Missouri. The Missouri Tigers are the last team the Sooners faced, and the Tigers defeated the Sooners in a tough and hard fought game 71-68. The Sooners can put up a decent amount of points this season as OU is averaging 71 points per game this season.
The Texas Tech Red Raiders are just 3-6-1 against the spread in their last ten games, and the total has gone under in five of the last seven games. The Sooners haven't fared much better this season as the Sooners are just 1-4 against the spread in their last four road games.
Going against a home team in conference play is rarely a good idea, but it has to be the only play here. The Sooners can score, and while OU definitely isn't the powerhouse it has been in the past few years, I like the Sooners to get the easy win and cover here on Saturday.
