The Nebraska Cornhuskers will look to take one step closer to the Big Ten title game on Saturday when the Huskers host the Penn State Nittany Lions.

The Penn State Nittany Lions head to Lincoln Nebraska on Saturday to face off against Taylor Martinez and the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers improved their record to 7-2 on the season this past weekend as the Huskers defeated the Michigan State Spartans 28-24 in East Lansing. The Huskers trailed the Spartans with seven minutes left in the fourth quarter, but Nebraska came back with back to back touchdowns, the final score with just six seconds remaining to secure the win. The Huskers put on an impressive display of offense against the Spartans as Nebraska gained better than 470 yards on the solid Michigan State defense. Taylor Martinez had his troubles through the air as the Nebraska signal caller threw three picks against the Spartans, but Martinez more than made up for it on the ground, leading the Huskers with over 200 yards. The Huskers are staying true to their roots this season as Nebraska is keeping the ball on the ground nearly 60 percent of the time, giving Nebraska one of the most potent ground attacks in the Big Ten.

The Penn State Nittany Lions took care of business this past weekend, defeating the Purdue Boilermakers 34-9, giving Penn State a record of 6-3 on the season. The Nittany Lions got on the Boilermakers early, and by the half Penn State had a comfortable 17 point advantage. The Nittany Lion offense put up over 500 yards of offense against the Boilermakers on Saturday, with Matt McGloin putting on a clinic, throwing for over 300 yards and two scores. Defensively the Nittany Lions did get hurt a bit through the air from Purdue, giving up over 280 yards, but the Boilermakers were unable to get anything going on the ground against Penn State, keeping their offense one dimensional. The Nittany Lion defense is giving up just over 3.5 yards per rush this season, a stat that will be tested this Saturday against the Husker ground attack.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers are 2-3 against the spread in their last five Big Ten games, while the Penn State Nittany Lions are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games in conference. Penn State is 7-2 against the spread in this season, while the Nebraska Cornhuskers are 5-4 against the spread this season overall.

This should be an entertaining game to watch, and the match-up I am most interested to see is the Penn State defense against this Husker offense. Nebraska is tough in Lincoln, and the Huskers have a lot to play for right now, but the Penn State offense is clicking under McGloin, and with the Nittany Lions able to maintain balance offensively it could give the Husker defense some problems. I like Nebraska to get the win, but I think the value here is with Penn State and the points.
