Utah Utes Vs. Arizona Wildcats
11/17/12 Tyrone’s Free College Football Pick Against the Spread
'Zona zoomed past 1-9, 1-6 Colorado 56-31 courtesy of 28 straight points. The 'Cats struck the first three times on sophomore running back Ka'Deem Carey's rushing touchdowns. Carey found the end zone twice more as did senior wide receiver D.J. Buckner twice from junior quarterback B.J. Denker who also ran a TD in.
Utah struck first blood in Seattle on No. 25 Washington, but were dealt three blows in a row to hit the deck 34-15. The Utes got on the scoreboard initially due to senior RB John White rumbling in from 46 yards away.
Sophomore tight end Jake Murphy's rush on the two-point conversion put Utah ahead by eight. The Utes however didn't score again until the middle portion of the third period on White's 20-yard rush.
Utah needs to have more sense of urgency after being trounced by the 6-4, 4-3 Huskies. The Utes return to Rice-Eccles Stadium where Utah carved up two of the worst Pac-12 schools by 22 and 43 points. Arizona is a little better than 3-8, 2-6 California and 2-8, 0-7 Washington State.
The Utes also won their first two contests in Salt Lake City, but did fall by 10 points to No. 18 Southern California. Utah also won in Tucson 34-21 over the Wildcats a year ago. 'Zona's zinging style hasn't worked well during two away games going down by seven and eight TDs.
A thrilling 54-48 overtime loss at No. 13 Stanford in which the 'Cats led by 14 late has me thinking Arizona has a chance. The Wildcats though who actually were able to run the football for 438 yards on the Buffaloes won't be able to on the Utes. 'Zona was 1-5 a year ago on the road just losing once by a TD or less. Not going to happen again in Utah.
