This has really been a remarkable playoff run by Real Salt Lake. This team finished in 5th place in the Western Conference with a losing record (11-12-7)! However, they dismembered the defending champs Columbus Crew in the first round, and won a penalty kick thriller against the Chicago Fire in the semi-finals. Kyle Beckerman (along with his dreads) is in complete control of the midfield, while the young upcoming striker, Robbie Findley, continues to wreck havoc up top. If Real Salt Lake wants to secure their improbable championship run, Findley will have to step up once again providing the offensive spark.

It's no surprise that the LA Galaxy are in the final. They were the pre-season favorite with a healthy Donovan and Beckham. The dynamic duo has been spectacular on their current run through the Western Conference playoffs. Look for the Galaxy to put heavy pressure on Real Salt Lake all game long and use their experience to pick their spots.

Los Angeles already defeated their toughest obstacle to winning the Cup last week. There is no way Donovan and Beckham allow Real Salt Lake to steal their trophy. This is why Beckham came to America – not only to spread intrigue for soccer around the US, but for a chance at an MLS Championship. He already has several English Premier League and Champions League titles under his belt.

Surprisingly, the game is on prime time ESPN at 8:30pm EST – going head-to-head with Sunday night football on NBC. This will be an interesting test of how far Beckham has brought soccer in the US.

While a penalty kick shootout win for Real Salt Lake would not surprise me in the least, the Galaxy will win this game. A lack of experience will prove to be Real Salt Lake’s Achilles heel, while Beckham and Co. will capitalize of a several key mistakes. I'm expecting the trophy to be delivered to a triumphant LA Galaxy Sunday night, after a 2-0 victory.

Beckham will be the first player in history to win 3 different titles in a year. If he happens to win the MLS with the LA Galaxy, wins Serie A with AC Milan on his loan, and wins the World Cup with England.
