If you want to watch top caliber soccer, tune in for Sunday’s premier league match between Arsenal and Chelsea.

Chelsea currently sits in first place atop the EPL table, while Arsenal looks to close to the gap – currently sitting eight points behind in third place with a game in hand. Due to the spending capacity of these two clubs, both rosters are stacked full of all-stars. Even the bench players for both squads play crucial roles for their respective national teams.

Arsenal is having a superb season. While the Gunners sit in third place in the EPL, they have already qualified for the final 16 in the Champions League. Unfortunately, Arsenal was struck with the injury bug (much like Liverpool) as top goal-scorer Robbie Van Persie went down with an ankle injury. However, the depth on this club is very stout, and Cesc Fabregas and Arshavin easily pick up the slack. After losing for the first time in 14 games last weekend, Arsenal rebounded with a 2-0 win over Stanford Liege yesterday. Look for them to keep the momentum this weekend. The key for Arsenal is homefield advantage in this matchup. They have yet to lose this season with a +16 goal differential.

Chelsea is on fire. The Blues have a five point lead over second place Manchester United. They have yet to lose a league game this year and are 4-0-2 on the road. They won their last five games comfortably. Star striker Didier Drogba is second in the EPL in goals scored with 9 and has 5 assists as well. Frank Lampard and Michael Ballack hold the midfield just as good as any duo on the planet, and don’t forget centerback and captain, John Terry. Even though this game is on the road at Emirates Stadium (where Arsenal has yet to lose this year), it would very, very difficult to wager against Chelsea right now. Not to mention, Chelsea secured a top in the final 16 in the Champions League as well with a 1-0 win over FC Porto today.

Arsenal has the depth and speed to keep up with Chelsea, but I think the Blues are just clicking on all cylinders right now. An early goal from Drogba will set the tone for Chelsea as they look to increase their lead in the EPL.
