Horse Racing is a long term hobby of mine and as I have owned race horses in the past and I have done extensive live shows from tracks I think this is a section we are going to have a lot of fun with as it develops over time.

This is a section I want to develop into it's own page at some point with coverage of all horse racing tracks around the world. In the short term we're mostly going to look at the near term races and just the bigger stakes races. We couldn't think of a better time to launch than right before the Triple Crown, leading off with the Kentucky Derby. WHile we would have liked to cover all of the prep races it will be something we look to do next season as the site becomes more structured and it's less about building the framework and more about getting out what our readers want to read.

This is an area where everyone is welcome to be a part of it, either contributing picks and write ups or just leaving a comment. There are hundreds of races a day all year round so we'll never be at a shortage of what to say here.

I'm very excited to see a horse racing page on the SCP. We've got a great Triple Crown season thanks to the excitement from Mine That Bird's rocket ride to prominence and Rachel Alexandra's dominance.

And there's a lot of great racing to come with the Haskell, the Travers and all sorts of great races ahead. And that's just flat racing here in the U.S.

There's a whole world of horse racing out there.
