Word is out that NASCAR is reverting back to the old 10 lap sprint to conclude the All-Star race at Lowe's Motor Speedway in May. The race will consist of 4 segments.

Segment 1 will be 50 laps with a mandatory green-flag pit stop on lap 25 in which all teams must take on 4 tires. Following the end of the 50 laps, a caution will come out and pit stops are optional.

Segment 2 will be 20 laps followed by a caution with optional pit stops.

Segment 3 will also be 20 laps and then the field will be frozen and the teams will pit for 10 minutes and be allowed to work on their cars.

Then it's on!!! 10 laps for $1,000,000.  During the final segment, caution laps will not count so there will be 10 green laps of racing.

I would expect that final segment to be a long one filled with cautions. Second place pays nothing and drivers don't lose Sprint Cup points if they wreck. One Million Dollars by any means nessesary.
