With the conclusion of yesterday’s Colts-Bills game, we’ve officially seen every NFL team in action. We’ve also learned a lot in a short amount of time, and that new information can be applied to the upcoming fantasy season. With that in mind, let’s take a closer look at some of the noteworthy players around the league who are making headlines right now.

Daryl Richardson, RB, St. Louis Rams: With each passing week, there’s more and more fantasy buzz surrounding Richardson. He’s coming off an encouraging 44-total-yard performance in the Rams’ first preseason game, and by all indications he’s firmly in the lead when it comes to securing the starting RB job.
Richardson’s only real competition is from Isaiah Pead and Zac Stacy, and he seems pretty far ahead as the season nears. Think of Richardson as a nice mid-level sleeper who should give great value in your draft.

LeSean McCoy, RB, Philadelphia Eagles: It looks like McCoy’s recent injury concerns are behind him, as he was able to return to the practice field yesterday. He’s been battling a knee issue since last week, and the condition caused him to miss the Eagles’ first preseason game.
It’s good to see McCoy back out there, as any fantasy owner targeting him will have to pull the trigger early. He’ll likely go in the No. 7-10 area among running backs.

Scott Chandler, TE, Buffalo Bills: Chandler wasn’t able to suit up for last night’s preseason opener. He was listed as inactive due to his knee (he’s coming off ACL surgery). Chandler is healed up and has been practicing but the Bills are being extra careful with him in an effort to avoid any setbacks.
Fantasy-wise, Chandler is a bit of an enigma. We like him as a lower-level pick, and he should do well as a matchup-based fill-in or injury replacement. Keep him in mind.

Chris Ivory, RB, New York Jets: Ivory, who is one of our favorite sleeper picks at RB this year, took a positive step in his recovery from a tight hamstring yesterday. He was able to hit the practice field, but only in an individual capacity as he’s not yet healthy enough for team work. The injury caused him to sit out the Jets’ first preseason game.
Assuming Ivory can kick this hamstring issue and it doesn’t turn into a nagging condition, all systems are go on his sleeper status. He should get plenty of touches in the Jets’ (admittedly ugly) offense, and should provide nice value as a mid-20s fantasy pick among RBs.
