It’s Thursday, and that means the NFL’s Week 3 will be upon us within the coming hours. That means it’s time to start making lineup decisions for your fantasy football team, and we’re here to help if you’re on the fence. Let’s take a closer look at a few borderline calls who could come up big or flame out completely.

Start ‘Em:

Fantasy Football 2013: Week 3 Start-Sit

Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

Philip Rivers, QB, San Diego Chargers: We recommended Rivers as a start last week, and that made us look pretty smart, so let’s try it out again. He’s heading into a just-okay matchup against Tennessee this week, but he’s riding high right now with seven passing scores and only one pick on his résumé. For a backup-level QB, Rivers is the big name to target right now. If you’re not feeling too good about your No. 1 option, check him out.

Anquan Boldin, WR, San Francisco 49ers: The 49ers offense looked pretty anemic in Week 2 against the Seahawks, but we’ll blame that on a tough matchup away from home. Things are looking up for this weekend, however, when Boldin and the gang will host the Colts--and their mediocre secondary. We’re not anticipating a huge game, but he should post some start-worthy numbers.

Buffalo Bills Defense: This isn’t just a “play the defense who’s got the Jets” suggestion, but--well, okay, it kind of is. The tasty matchup against New York aside, the Bills have been pretty darn good on the defensive side of the ball. They held Cam Newton and the Panthers to 308 yards in Week 2, and shouldn’t have too much trouble with Geno and the gang. Check them out if you’re down for a one-week filler.

Sit ‘Em:

David Wilson, RB, New York Giants: We tried to be patient here, but we’ve officially had it with Wilson. After his 19-yard, two-fumble debacle in the opener, and afterward his 17-yard disappearing act against Denver, we’re done. Even though the matchup (Carolina) isn’t too bad, we say leave Wilson on the bench until he shows some life.

Greg Jennings, WR, Minnesota Vikings: This one’s a matchup play. Regular readers know we’re big fans of beastly Cleveland shutdown CB Joe Haden, and he’ll be lining up against Jennings this week. Haden has wrecked the fantasy weeks of Mike Wallace and Torrey Smith so far this year, and we’re betting Jennings will get the shutdown treatment as well.

Cincinnati Bengals Defense: If you’ve got another option for your defense, we’d suggest taking a look at it this week. The Bengals did well against the Steelers in Week 2, but they’ll get the unenviable task of trying to stop Aaron Rodgers this week. He’s shredded San Francisco and Washington for seven touchdowns and only one interception so far, so don’t be expecting too much out of Cincinnati.
