Fantasy football Week 7 will kick into gear tonight, with a “Thursday Night Football” matchup between the Seahawks and Cardinals, so don’t forget to get your lineup set. With that in mind, let’s take a closer look at some of the noteworthy fantasy names out there who are making headlines and see what everyone’s up to out there. Here’s the latest.

Andre Johnson, WR, Houston Texans: It’s high time we addressed Johnson’s situation, as it’s one of the more peculiar statistical stories in fantasy right now. He’s currently leading the league in receptions (44) and has top-8 yardage numbers (495) but hasn’t been able to get into the end zone. At all.
Owners were never expecting miracles here, but to say he wouldn’t have a touchdown this far into the season would have been crazy talk just a couple of months ago. That said, Johnson is certainly putting in the effort--fighting off injury and such--but has been hampered by the Houston offense in the red zone. He’s got a tough matchup against the surging Cheifs this week, but he’s not a player you take out of your lineup. Just roll and stay hopeful.

Roddy White, WR, Atlanta Falcons: Now let’s head down to Atlanta and check in on White, who has been a major disappointment in his own right. He’s been fighting off a nagging hamstring injury for just about the entire season, and it’s still hanging around after the team’s bye week. He was out of practice yet again on Tuesday, and his status for this week’s game against the Buccaneers remains in doubt.
Assuming White can play--and at this point we doubt that will happen--he gets the privilege of matching up against Tampa Bay corner Darrelle Revis. That doesn’t exactly bode well for his success anyway. We’d say just leave him on your bench for now regardless, and just hope that one of your backup wide receivers can come through in a fill-in role once again.

Justin Blackmon, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars: Speaking of hamstring injuries, let’s check in on Blackmon. He’s coming off a huge week against the Broncos, where he was targeted a whopping 20 times. He managed to come up with 14 of those, posting 190 yards in the process. The matchup he’s got this week against the Chargers is very intriguing, as San Diego has allowed seven scores to wide receivers so far this season.
There’s one little issue here, though, and that’s Blackmon’s hamstring injury. He missed out on practice yesterday, which will motivate fantasy owners to keep an eye on him in the days leading up to game time. The good news is that this reportedly isn’t a new issue, and he should be able to work through it as long as he hasn’t suffered a setback. We’ll keep you posted.

Rob Housler, TE, Arizona Cardinals: One player we’ll be watching closely tonight as the Cardinals host the visiting Seahawks is Housler. First off, let’s see if he’s healthy. He’s listed as probable and was able to post a full practice yesterday, so things are looking good when it comes to his ailing ankle. Now, there’s also the matter of his performance and potential fantasy value.
We were pretty high on Housler coming into the season, but when he finally hit the field he proved us wrong. He managed just two catches in his first three games--but part of that could be due to the fact that he was injured at the beginning of the season. Housler did show some life against the Niners, however, with four grabs for 32 yards. He’s not a fantasy force just yet, but if he shows more improvement tonight he’s worth a look.
