Fantasy Football News and Updates: 2013 NFL Week 16 Deep Sleepers
Jason's Fantasy Football Analysis: Week 16 Gutsy Gameday Starts
Week 16 Gutsy Gameday Starts
QB: Kirk Cousins vs Cowboys - Cousins is a starting QB going against the worst secondary in the NFL, and that means he should be on fantasy radars. Cousins performed well last week against a soft Falcons defense where he threw for 381 yards and 3 touchdowns. The weather could factor in this game as there is a 40% chance of rain in the second half, but Cousins still presents the best waiver wire option for teams looking for a week 16 QB upgrade. Matt Schaub vs Broncos is also a very risky sleeper to consider this week.
RB: Jordan Todman vs Titans - MJD is questionable and if he plays than Dennis Johnson vs Broncos would be the Gutsy Start to play. But if MJD does not play, then Todman has the opportunity to become a fantasy championship hero. The Jags are at home against one of the NFL's worst rush defenses. The jags have also been playing hard all season, and there is no reason to think they will stop giving maximum effort this late in the season. The Jags could even jump over the Titans in the AFC South with a win, and divisional pride is a strong NFL motivator. Todman is the best running back waiver wire option this week as long as MJD does not play.

WR: Michael Crabtree vs Falcons - Crabtree is looking like a wise gamble this week, and he is still on the waiver wire in many leagues. This is a great matchup for the 49ers, and a great opportunity to get Crabtree heavily involved in their offensive attack. The 49ers are tuning up for another Super Bowl run, and this game is just what the doctor ordered for Crabtree. If you're an owner looking for a last minute replacement, and Crabtree is gone, look for Justin Hunter at Jacksonville.
TE: Joseph Fauria vs Giants - Fauria should be given the opportunity to stay on the field the whole game this week since Pettigrew is out with an ankle injury. Stafford has no problem with throwing to Fauria in the endzone, and now Fauria will have the opportunity to catch passes between the 20's. With Megatron banged up, Fauria could have a big game, but he also comes with great risk as he has only caught 12 passes all season. If Fauria is too much of a gamble, than fantasy owners should consider the safer options in Dennis Pitta vs Patriots and Delanie Walker at Jacksonville.
DEF: Dolphins at Buffalo - This game was supposed to be highly affected by weather as there was originally an 80% chance of rain. It is fun to play football in the snow, but it is not so fun to play in the rain. While the rain may not make that big of an impact anymore on this game, the field will still be wet and sloppy which always favors the defense. Since the Bills will be starting a backup QB this week, the advantage goes to the Dolphins.
