Week 17 Gameday Injury Report
The week 17 injury list is not too bad considering it's the last week of the season, and that is good news for fantasy owners who are competing for a fantasy championship this week. There are also 13 games that could affect the playoff picture, and that means most teams will be playing their starters all day. All in all, week 17 is looking like a pretty normal week for fantasy owners, but there are still some players that will not make to the field this weekend.
Tony Romo - The big news this week is that Romo will not be on the field during the big Sunday night showdown against the Eagles. Kyle Orton will get the start, and he is a player to think about if you are looking for a final week QB upgrade. History has shown us that the Cowboys cannot win in December with Tony Romo as their quarterback. Now NFL fans are wondering, what will happen if the Cowboys win without Tony Romo as their QB?

Calvin Johnson - Megatron is in jeopardy of missing the final game of the season. Megatron has had another great year, with the exception of his injuries. Johnson could have possibly had another record setting season if he could have stayed healthy all year, but instead he left fantasy owners wanting more and let them down during the fantasy playoff stretch. Fantasy owners who are counting on Megatron this week will need to verify his status before kickoff and have a backup plan ready.
Adrian Peterson - AP has had a down year, and he will miss the final game of the regular season. Since Gerhart will be out as well, Matt Asiata will get the start at running back for the Vikings on the final week of the season. Asiata will go up against the Lions who have had a solid run defense this year. The Lions are also a defeated team that is not playing well, and that could mean Asiata will be able to find some running room.
Shane Vereen - Vereen is reportedly going to miss this weekends game against the Bills. By now fantasy owners know the drill with the New England backfield, and that would mean at this stage LeGarrette Blount is the running back to start in New England.
Rueben Randle - Randle is looking like he will miss the Giants last game of the season, and that makes Jerrel Jernigan a very nice sleeper this week.
Other Players to Note:
The reports out of Kansas City are suggesting that the Chiefs will sit their starters early in this week's game. That means Jamaal Charles is now a very risky fantasy play, and fantasy owners should consider starting Knile Davis this week instead.
