TV:

Starting this afternoon, we’ll be seeing quite a bit of NHL action out there on the ice. As a result, there will be plenty of fantasy considerations in the hours leading up to game-time. That said, let’s take a look at some of the notable lower-end names out there who could prove useful to fantasy owners in today’s games. Here’s the scoop.

Eddie Lack, G, Vancouver Canucks: With No. 1 goalie Roberto Luongo out for at least a few more days, Lack is the logical choice as a fantasy pickup between the pipes. He’s coming off a very strong game against the Blues on Friday, with 31 saves on 32 shots in a 2-1 win. The nice outing is reassuring, since he’d allowed four goals in each of his previous three starts.
Still, Lack is probably the best option for those owners in need of a quick fix at goalie. The Canucks are in L.A. to take on the Kings tonight.

Chris Kreider, C/LW, New York Rangers: Kreider was something of a disappointment last season, but he’s found his form in 2013-14. The youngster has three points (one goal and two assists) in his last four outings, and has been pretty impressive with his 11 scores and 14 helpers overall. He’s also carrying a plus-10 rating.
There’s no reason to believe Kreider won’t continue cruising as long as he stays healthy. He needs to be owned in most leagues. He’ll be out on the ice against Philadelphia tonight.

Vladimir Tarasenko, RW, St. Louis Blues: We’ve been talking about Tarasenko quite a bit recently, and it’s easy to see why. He’s been pouring in the points recently, and though his five-game points streak came to an end on Friday, he’s still a must-own in most fantasy leagues.
Tarasenko has 15 goals and 13 assists on the season, with seven of those points coming in just the last six games. If he’s still out there in your league, snatch him up before tonight’s game against Phoenix.

Andrew MacDonald, D, New York Rangers: MacDonald has been trending positively among waiver-level defensemen recently, and he should be able to continue the production. He’s got three goals and a nice 19 assists on the season so far, and though his minus-5 rating isn’t so hot, he’s posted a plus-3 in the past three games.
MacDonald gets loads of ice time, so he should prove useful in the future. He’ll be in Dallas tonight.

Vladimir Sobotka, C, St. Louis Blues: Let’s head back to St. Louis once more to check out another Vladimir, this one named Sobotka. He had a five-game points streak going until Friday (much like Tarasenko), but saw it shattered with a limp offensive output from the team. Sobotka has seven goals, 17 assists and a plus-14 rating on the season so far.
If you can’t get Tarasenko, take a look at Sobotka. We’d imagine the Blues will get back to their heavy offense tonight when the Coyotes come to town.
