Daily Fantasy MLB 4/29/14: Matchup Plays and Value Picks
Fantasy Baseball Daily Leagues: Sleeper Picks and Advice for Upcoming Matchups
April 29, 2014
The early-week series are in full swing around the MLB, and as a result there are plenty of fantasy considerations out there for wise owners. With that in mind, let’s take our daily look at some of the hot players who are being picked up at a rapid pace in leagues everywhere. If you’re looking for a trendy sleeper or a matchup play, here’s where to start.
Kyle Seager, 3B, Seattle Mariners: Over the past couple of days, Seager has been one of the most-added players in fantasy. He’s riding a four-game multi-hit streak, with six runs, five homers and 11 RBI to his credit in that span.
Seager started out the 2014 campaign stinking it up, and a lot of people ignored him. His BA is still pretty ugly (.228) but you simply can’t ignore that kind of power. He’s in New York to face the Yankees today.

Ben Revere, OF, Philadelphia Phillies: We’re pretty big Ben Revere backers here, and his recent play is making him a solid fantasy commodity. Over his past six games, he’s produced 12 hits, five runs, an RBI and four stolen bases.
Revere is a speedster, so he won’t get you much in the way of power numbers. That said, if you need swipes and/or runs--and can’t get Rajai Davis--Revere is your guy. He’s at home against the Mets today.
Chris Denorfia, OF, San Diego Padres: Denorfia is a relative newcomer to this space, and he’s making quite a name for himself in fantasy. During the Nationals series, he put up six hits, two runs, two RBI and a steal in four games. He came up empty yesterday, however.
Denorfia hasn’t been too high on most people’s radar, but that should change soon. As a sleeper candidate for a solid season, you can’t do much better. The San Francisco series continues today.
Omar Infante, 2B, Kansas City Royals: Infante turned a lot of heads during his last outing on Sunday, nailing a homer and collecting six RBI in a 2-for-3 effort against Baltimore. It was his second blast of the season, and helped bloat his RBI number up to 17 thus far.
Infante hasn’t ever eclipsed the 55-RBI mark, but he’s well on his way to doing that this season. With such a thin talent pool at 2B, you might want to give him a look. The Blue Jays come to town today.
Trevor Plouffe, 3B, Minnesota Twins: We’ve talked about Plouffe from time to time this year, and he’s been playing well enough recently to deserve mention once again. He’s got a nice little seven-game hit streak to his credit right now, during which he’s collected seven runs and six RBI.
That said, you’ll have to monitor Plouffe’s health if you’re interested in grabbing him. He left Saturday’s game due to a triceps contusion (Sunday’s game was postponed). If he checks out, he’s worth a look in the Dodgers series.
