Fantasy Football News: Injury Update 9/20/14
Taking a Look at Some of the Injured Fantasy Players Heading into Week 3
September 20, 2014
It’s Saturday; That means it’s time once again to take a look at some of the notable injury situations around the NFL and see what they’ll mean to our fantasy rosters this week. We’ve got several big names on the mend right now, so let’s take a closer look at everyone’s status and see what’s in store for Week 3.
Carolina WR Kelvin Benjamin is probable for Sunday’s game against the Steelers, thanks to a knee injury. He got through both Thursday and Friday’s practice sessions and makes a good start here.

Wes Welker is listed as probable for the huge Denver-Seattle matchup on Sunday, which will be his 2014 debut. He’s fighting off a concussion.
A.J. Green looks good for the Tennessee game. He’s been listed as probable due to a toe ligament injury that had him sitting out in Week 2.
Back to that Carolina-Pittsburgh game: Greg Olson is probable. He’d been hampered earlier in the week with a calf injury but was able to get through both Thursday and Friday’s practice sessions.
Still no Eric Decker on the Jets practice field just yet; He sat out yesterday’s session as well. Today will be the big day in determining his availability, so we’ll have to see what he looks like then ahead of Monday’s big matchup at home against the Bears. If he’s not able to go due to that hamstring, the Jets offense can pretty much kiss their passing game goodbye.
Jamaal Charles was limited in practice on Thursday but looks to be doing better after getting through Friday’s session. He’s dealing with an ankle injury that initially was believed to be a 2-3 week recovery timeline. That said, he hasn’t done much when he’s been on the field just yet this year.
Browns TE Jordan Cameron looks to be about a coin-flip shot at playing against the Ravens this week. He’s listed as questionable. The good news is that he’s been able to get through the last two days of practice with his shoulder injury.
Question marks in the Panthers backfield: Mike Tolbert is probable heading into the Steelers game, but has been limited here and there in practice this week.
Also, DeAngelo Williams is questionable due to a thigh injury. He’ll be a game-time call tomorrow, but the good news is that he came back to practice yesterday.
Cecil Shorts, who is one of the Jaguars’ only offensive weapons, has been deemed probable for tomorrow’s action against Indianapolis. He’s been out both games so far with a hamstring injury.
