Fantasy Football News: Injury Update 11/1/14
Andrew's Week 9 Fantasy Injury Analysis
November 1, 2014
It’s Saturday, and that means it’s time to get that fantasy football lineup in order for Week 9. Unfortunately, if you’re unlucky that also means dealing with a fresh crop of injury concerns. With that in mind, let’s visit a few of the notable players out there who are heading into the weekend ailing and see if we can determine their outlooks.
Those fantasy owners relying on Tony Romo have been in a tailspin this week when it comes to figuring out if he’ll be ready to go against Arizona this weekend. Romo is officially listed as questionable for that game after taking a knee to his back during the Monday night game in Week 8.
Most of the week, the word has been that Romo will remain a game-time decision, so the questionable designation doesn’t really surprise anyone. Even if he plays, we’d advise avoiding Romo if you can. It’s just a tough situation all around.

Let’s stick in the NFC East and check out Robert Griffin III. He’s been ruled probable and will be getting back under center against the Vikings this week. This one’s a tough fantasy call as well, since the Redskins probably won’t be testing the limits of RG3’s playmaking ability. He remains a gamble against a pretty stout Vikings defense this week.
The Chargers’ Ryan Mathews was able to return to practice yesterday, albeit in a limited capacity. He won’t be playing in tomorrow’s game, but is looking pretty good for a Week 11 return after the bye.
The Texans’ Andre Johnson and Arian Foster are both probable for the Week 9 game against the Eagles. They were limited in practice yesterday, but neither was in any real danger of missing out on this week’s game.
The Buccaneers’ Doug Martin is officially doubtful for the Week 9 game against the Browns.
The Bengals’ A.J. Green is questionable for tomorrow’s game against the Jaguars. He’s been out since Week 5 due to a toe injury. The good news is that Green was able to practice all week and has a pretty solid chance of playing as long as he doesn’t re-injure himself this weekend.
In a related item, Cincinnati’s No. 1 RB Giovani Bernard won’t be playing tomorrow thanks to his hip pointer. He had to sit out practice all week with the injury.
Bernard has been banged up quite a bit over the past few weeks, but this is the first time he’ll miss any on-field action. Hopefully you scooped up backup Jeremy Hill in his place on your fantasy roster.
The Browns’ Jordan Cameron has been ruled out for the Buccaneers game tomorrow, surprising exactly no one. He’s fighting off a concussion, which is his third such injury in the past two years.
Realistically, Cameron is in danger of missing Week 10 as well, since there’s a quick turnaround (Thursday game).
