Fantasy Basketball 2014-15: Waiver Wire Update 1/19
Fantasy Basketball Daily Leagues: Waiver Wire Picks and Advice for Today's Matchups
January 19, 2015
We’ve got a really busy day of NBA games coming up over the next several hours, so it’s a great time to give your fantasy basketball roster a glance. Let’s check out some of the hot players off the waiver wire right now so that we can see if anyone’s right for your lineup moving forward. Here’s a closer look at the stats.
Matt Barnes, SF, Los Angeles Clippers: What a game Barnes had against Sacramento this past weekend. He posted 26 points and 10 rebounds in the win, along with four 3-pointers, an assist, a block and three steals.
Barnes is cruising right now and is pretty much a must-own everywhere. He has six double-digit scoring outings in his last seven outings and just seems to be getting better. He’ll get Boston at home today.

Courtney Lee, SG/SF, Memphis Grizzlies: Speaking of hot players, Lee falls into that category lately. He put up 17 points, four 3-poiners, two rebounds and three assists in his last outing, which gives him four double-digit efforts in a row points-wise.
Lee hasn’t scored fewer than 16 in any of the last four, so he’s been a nice source of low-end points in fantasy. As long as he’s getting minutes around the 30-mark or so, he’s probably worth having.
Mo Williams, PG/SG, Minnesota Timberwolves: Williams tore up the fantasy ranks last week with his 52-point outing against the Pacers. He’s cooled off a bit from there, obviously, but is still putting up decent numbers.
Williams had 13 points and three rebounds in Denver but also provided seven assists. He’s a pretty good source of secondary stats if you can still get him. He’ll be in Charlotte to finish off the team’s road trip today.
Terrence Jones, SF/PF, Houston Rockets: Jones is a bit of an enigma at the moment, but due to some recent chatter, he’s trending on the waiver wire right now. Here’s what we know. He’s supposedly in the “final stages” of his recuperation from that leg injury, but there’s been no official timetable put forth or word on his status moving forward.
Be that as it may, if you’re the optimistic type and you need forward help, Jones isn’t a bad pickup at this stage. That said, no one knows what kind of minutes he’ll be getting when he returns to the floor, so keep that in mind.
Alex Len, C, Phoenix Suns: Need some rebounding? Len’s your guy right now. He posted 12 boards against the Timberwolves in his last outing, giving him four straight double-digit rebound outings.
Len is also delivering a fair amount of blocks and even a steal here and there, so he’s been a very nice value for his level recently. No one seems to think he’ll slow down much, so he seems like a safe bet.
