Fantasy Basketball Daily Leagues: The Latest News and Outlooks on Ailing Players
January 21, 2015
We’re headed into a packed night of NBA action, which makes this a pretty good time to take a look at some of the notable injury situations around the league and check out their effects on the fantasy basketball world. We’ve got our usual roundup of key players who are banged up, so let’s see what the prognoses are.
LeBron owners will want to take note of this: he missed out on practice yesterday due to flu-like symptoms, staying home to rest and recuperate.
James is fresh off an absence from knee and back issues, and this sickness has the potential to knock him out for another game or two. We’ll find out his status for sure today, so keep an eye on any news coming out of Cleveland until then. The Cavs get the Jazz tonight.

The Pelicans’ Jrue Holiday has been listed as questionable for tonight’s game against the Lakers. He’s been out of action for the past four games due to an ankle injury.
Holiday carries a 15.2 PG and 7.1 APG average this year.
In related news, Pelicans forward Anthony Davis has been upgraded from questionable to probable for tonight’s game. He’s been out for the past three games due to a sprained toe.
New Orleans is eager to get both Holiday and Davis back. They’re coming off an embarrassing loss to the lowly Knicks.
Let’s head to the other bench in tonight’s Lakers-Pelicans game and check out some of the news from L.A. Carlos Boozer missed out on practice yesterday due to a triceps contusion, but is listed as probable for tonight’s game and should be fine.
Elsewhere on the roster, Ronnie Price is questionable after a limited practice and Tarik Black will be out of action.
Those fantasy owners who picked up Luc Richard Mbah a Moute have been awaiting a return from a left knee contusion, but it’s not looking so good. He missed out on practice yesterday and is down as questionable for tonight’s tilt against the aforementioned Knicks.
Mbah a Moute carries averages of 9.3 PPG and 4.6 RPG in 35 games so far. In the meantime, Henry Sims will continue to get minutes as a replacement.
The Sixers’ Tony Wroten will be having an important visit with the doctor today. He’s scheduled to see a knee specialist in the coming hours to see exactly what’s going on with his injured joint.
Wroten has been out of action for the past four games and looks like he’ll be sitting for at least a little while longer. He’s averaging 16.9 PPG and 5.2 APG right now.
The Hornets’ Kemba Walker will be good to go for tonight against the Heat (assuming he doesn’t suffer a setback).
Walker practiced yesterday after missing two games due to a cyst in his knee.
