January 31, 2015
We’ve got a packed NHL schedule on the way today (11 games), which makes this a perfect time to check out some of the trending sleeper and waiver wire options out there in the world of fantasy hockey. We’ve got our usual handful of hot-name players this morning, so let’s take a closer look at the stats and see if anyone’s right for your team.
Devan Dubnyk, G, Minnesota Wild: If you’re in the market for a goalie right now, Dubnyk is the guy to have. He’s coming off an impressive 30-save shutout against Calgary, marking his second win in as many games.
Dubnyk has allowed just one goal in those wins, and overall has been really solid with the Wild so far. He’s the guy to pick up if you’re short a net-minder.

Mathieu Perreault, C, Winnipeg Jets: We’ve visited with Perreault a couple of times this season, and he’s back on the waiver wire trends list once again heading into the weekend. He posted a pair of goals in 17:31 of ice time against Philly, giving him a total of 17 on the season.
Perreault has 31 points in total, and lately they’ve been coming in big bursts (four goals on Jan. 13). He’ll be cruising past his career-high for scores in a season very soon.
Trevor Daley, D, Dallas Stars: Let’s move on over to defensemen, specifically Daley, who is playing pretty well these days. He’s coming off a nice three-point effort against the Senators, bagging a goal and two assists for his troubles.
Daley is coming off a groin injury that caused him to miss three games, but he seems fine now. He’s got 12 goals and 12 helpers on the year so far, so he should not be left on the wire in any league.
Michael Del Zotto, D, Philadelphia Flyers: Del Zotto has himself a nice little points streak going on. He’s tallied in the past five games straight. In that span, he’s amassed four assists and a pair of scores.
Del Zotto has really turned things around since last month and is tearing up the stat sheet as a result. On the year, he’s got four goals and 12 assists. If he keeps playing with this kind of confidence there’s no telling where his ceiling will top out.
Tyler Toffoll, RW, Los Angeles Kings: Moving on to the wing, let’s check out Toffoll out there in L.A. he had a nice game in the victory over Chicago in his last outing, posting a goal and an assist with a plus-2 rating.
Toffoll had previously been sidelined since early this month due to mononucleosis. Even with his ice time hovering in the 14-15 minute range, he’s doing some great things with what he’s got. He’s a nice lower-end pickup right now.
