Fantasy Hockey Daily Leagues: Injuries and Outlooks on Ailing Players
February 12, 2015
We’re heading into a busy nine-game evening in the NHL, so what better time to check in on some of the notable injury concerns around the league and see how they relate to the fantasy hockey world. We’ve got our usual lineup of notable players and situations this morning, so let’s take a closer look at the latest news.
He doesn’t have a whole lot of fantasy value outside of deeper leagues, but we’ll go ahead and check in on the Blues’ Chris Porter anyway. He was able to start skating in practice this week with the rest of the team and appears to be just about back to 100 percent.

With Kris Versteeg back off the injured reserve list (he had a hand injury) as of yesterday, there’s not much room left on the roster for Teuvo Teravainen. He’ll likely see a demotion in the coming days, as he earned himself a healthy scratch designation in yesterday’s game.
Anaheim’s Jakob Silfverberg was able to practice with the team yesterday, which is a good indication that he’s just about 100 percent following his illness.
Silfverberg has been a bit underwhelming this season so far (23 points in 54 games heading into tonight) but there have been some recent indications of a resurgence.
Cedric Paquette of the Lightning is considered day-to-day right now due to an upper-body injury. He’s likely not playing tonight.
The Senators’ Bobby Ryan was able to practice yesterday, following an undisclosed injury designation.
Ryan was cramping on Tuesday and wasn’t able to play in that game against the Sabres, so his presence at practice seems to bode well for his return to the ice. We’d imagine he’ll be good to go for tonight.
Back to the Ducks for a moment: defenseman Hampus Lindholm returned to practice yesterday after dealing with a lower-body injury.
Lindholm missed out on Tuesday’s game, but prior to that he had two points in his previous four games.
The Penguins’ Blake Comeau was able to come off of injured reserve yesterday, and earned himself a game-time decision designation for last night’s matchup against Detroit. It appears he’s just about back to normal following his wrist injury.
Blackhawks defenseman Tim Erixon is officially day to day following a lower-body injury. He has almost zero fantasy value, however, as he hasn’t even played since the All-Star break.
The Canucks’ Frank Corrado hit IR yesterday. He’s dealing with an illness. He’ll be eligible to return as soon as he’s better--whenever that may be.
