Fantasy Basketball News: Injury Update 3/4/15
Fantasy Basketball Daily Leagues: The Latest News and Outlooks on Ailing Players
March 4, 2015
It’s Wednesday, and ahead of a heavy NBA schedule tonight, it’s a great time to check out some of the notable injury situations around the league and see how they’ll affect our fantasy basketball livelihoods. We’ve got our usual roundup of ailing players this morning, so let’s take a closer look and see what we should be expecting.
We don’t have a whole lot to go on when it comes to ailing Bull Jimmy Butler, but there is a recovery window attached to his sprained elbow.
Butler will be out 3-6 weeks as he gets back to 100 percent, and really has no idea whether or not he’ll be on the near or far side of that estimate. Regardless, for fantasy purposes he’s finished, since there’s not much regular season left and he’d have to come in on the optimistic side of his window to come in and contribute again in that capacity.

Russell Westbrook owners will have something to look forward to tonight against the Sixers, as the Thunder star is expected to make his return for that game.
Westbrook missed some time after undergoing facial surgery to repair a fracture in his cheekbone. Assuming he comes back tonight (and we’ll know for sure today if he’s going to), he’ll be wearing a mask to protect himself from further injury.
The Kings say that PG Darren Collison is going to be missing at least six weeks. This comes after his surgery to repair a muscle injury in his core.
Collison has been out since February 5, so this isn’t much of a surprise.
The Lakers’ Nick Young was ruled out of last night’s game in Charlotte, marking the fourth straight game he’s missed.
Young is dealing with a knee issue and in the meantime Wayne Ellington has been filling in.
Kyrie Irving’s shoulder strain was healthy enough for him to be a go in last night’s game against the Celtics. He had missed two straight games with the issue.
Meanwhile, a illness forced Kevin Love into a game-time decision category.
The Magic’s Evan Fournier has a goal of getting back on the court tonight against the Suns, but don’t be surprised if he sits again.
Fournier is fighting off a hip injury he suffered on February 20.
Vince Carter of the Grizzlies sat again last night, this time as his team played the Jazz. He’s been out for 12 games thanks to his left foot injury.
