Fantasy Basketball 2014-15: Sleeper Picks 3/6/15
Fantasy Basketball Daily Leagues: Sleeper Picks and Advice for Tonight's Matchups
March 6, 2015
With the busy NBA schedule set for tonight, now’s a great time to go over a few fantasy basketball sleeper prospects for the weekend. We’ve got our usual roundup of trending names on the waiver wire for you this morning, so let’s take a closer look and see if anyone’s worth picking up.
Isaiah Canaan, PG, Philadelphia 76ers: We’ve got a couple of live ones out of Philly today, so let’s start with Canaan and see what’s got him surging to the top of the waiver wire charts. He’s coming off a 31-point, seven-rebound, six-assist effort against OKC in his last appearance.
Canaan should keep getting the minutes moving forward, just don’t expect him to produce at a high level with any sort of consistency. He’s worth picking up for the upside, though.
USA TODAY Sports
Jason Richardson, SG/SF, Philadelphia 76ers: Richardson had a good game against the Thunder on Thursday as well, producing 29 points, six rebounds and three assists. He had four three-pointers mixed in there as well, the third time in five games he’s hit that number.
Richardson will sit here and there, so you’ll have to keep an eye on when he starts. Otherwise, he’s been playing well and is a solid option right now for the fantasy needy out there.
Ersan Ilyasova, SF/PF, Milwaukee Bucks: We’ve seen Ilyasova turn up on the waiver wire radar time and again this season, and here he is. He’s got six straight double-digit scoring outings to his credit, including a 13-point, 10-rebound effort in Oakland on Thursday.
Ilyasova has three double-doubles in his last six games, so he’s on quite the little tear right now. There’s no reason to leave him on the wire at this point, so snatch him up.
Gerald Henderson, SG/SF, Charlotte Hornets: Henderson is another trendy pickup right now, as he’s coming off yet another nice game in Brooklyn. He put up 19 points, two rebounds, two assists and a steal in that one.
Henderson now has five straight double-digit scoring outings, and is getting minutes-loads in the mid-30s consistently. He’s a big part of the Hornets’ playoff quest.
P.J. Tucker, SG/SF, Phoenix Suns: The Suns may be pretty blah right now, but Tucker has been hot. He put up 19 points, five rebounds, three steals and a block in Orlando on Thursday, giving him double-digit points in eight of nine games.
Tucker is definitely worth picking up in fantasy while he’s on this current trend. He’ll even get you a pretty good number of rebounds as well.
