Fantasy Baseball 2015: Waiver Wire Update 4/28
Fantasy Baseball Daily Leagues: Sleeper Picks and Advice for Upcoming Matchups
April 28, 2015
It’s Tuesday, and around here that means it’s time once again to check out the waiver wire in the world of fantasy baseball. We’ve got a fresh crop of trending names for you to peruse this morning, so with that said let’s take a closer look at the numbers and see if anyone’s right for your team.
Jake Marisnick, OF, Houston Astros: Marisnick is one of the hottest things on the wire right now, thanks to his solid play as of late. He missed two games late last week due to a quad injury, but returned to bash a homer with three runs, two RBI and two steals in the Oakland finale. He had another hit yesterday.
Marisnick should be moving up in the order if he keeps playing like this, so his numbers will only improve from here if that happens. He’s a speculative play and a pretty good option at the moment.

Alex Guerrero, OF, Los Angeles Dodgers: The only major problem with Guerrero this season is that he doesn’t get too many starts. When he does, however, he makes the most of them.
In Sunday’s finale against the Padres, for instance, he went 2-for-3 and slapped a solo homer, his third dinger in three games. If he gets more playing time, he might become a solid fantasy addition. He sat again yesterday.
Jimmy Paredes, 3B, Baltimore Orioles: Let’s cruise on over to the hot corner and check out Paredes, who is trending in his own right. During the Boston series, he smacked eight hits, four runs, two homers and seven RBI in a three-game span.
Paredes has been great since coming off the disabled list recently, and makes a nice depth pickup if you need a third baseman.
Jesse Chavez, SP/RP, Oakland Athletics: Chavez is going to get a look in the A’s rotation, which is good news for deep-leaguers who need a pitcher to pick up. He managed six innings of one-earned, one-hit ball against the Angels in his last start.
Chavez will be going up against the Rangers in those teams’ series opener on May 1. If he looks good there, you’ll see his fantasy star rise.
Adeiny Hechavarria, SS, Miami Marlins: Probably the hottest thing on the wire right now is Hechavarria, and though we’ve already talked about him this week, we should reiterate things for those who may have missed it.
Hechavarria entered play yesterday with a nine-game hit streak, during which he posted nine runs, a homer, a steal and 11 RBI. He came up empty yesterday, though. He’s a guy you need to own as long as this run continues.
