Fantasy Baseball Update 5/11/15: Key Matchups Early This Week
Fantasy Baseball Daily Leagues: Sleeper Picks and Advice for Upcoming Matchups
May 11, 2015
It’s Monday, and around here that means it’s time once again to check in on the new series beginning around the MLB. There are lots of fantasy baseball opportunities out there for the enterprising owner, so let’s visit the waiver wire to see where the popular adds are and see who could be making an impact in the upcoming games this week.
Jung Ho Kang, 3B/SS, Pittsburgh Pirates: Let’s start things out today with Kang, who has been on quite a run lately. During the St. Louis series, he posted five hits, three runs, a homer and two RBI to give him a four-game hit streak heading into today.
Kang is sporting a .333 BA with a pair of homers on the year. Though he’s still not technically an everyday player just yet, that’s probably not far off. He’ll be in Philly this week.

Noah Syndergaard, SP, New York Mets: Now’s the time to snatch up Syndergaard if you’ve been considering it. He’ll make his major-league debut tomorrow against the Cubs in place of Dillon Gee, who is injured at the moment.
Syndergaard has been quite a sensation in the minors this year and is a hot pickup in the fantasy game. No telling quite yet how long he’ll remain in the Mets’ rotation, but he’s worth a look pretty much everywhere.
Jimmy Paredes, 3B, Baltimore Orioles: Paredes finished off the Yankees series in style, banging out five hits, three runs and a solo homer in the last two games. He’s currently working on a nine-game hit streak.
Paredes has provided six runs, two homers and six RBI during his run, and is batting .355 on the year with 15 RBI. He’ll be back home against the incoming Blue Jays this week, so snatch him up if you need help at the hot corner.
Chris Young, SP/RP, Kansas City Royals: After a nice outing yesterday against Detroit, Young is a trendy pickup on the fantasy baseball waiver wire. He muscled through six innings in that one, allowing just three hits and no earned.
Young is in the rotation filling in for the injured Jason Vargas, so while he’s there he’s a nice pickup in fantasy. He’ll see the Yankees at home on Friday.
Torii Hunter, OF, Minnesota Twins: Even though he whiffed in the final game against Cleveland (but still scored a run), Hunter is a popular add this morning. In the first two games of the series, he put up seven hits, two homers, five runs and five RBI.
Hunter is sporting a .287 BA and 19 RBI so far this year, and he’s really been coming on over the past couple of weeks. He’s a nice pickup heading into Detroit.
