Here is my lineup for tonight’s games. Please note that I’m using the salary cap based on FanDuel prices.

Also, as this is written the day before/morning of the games, please check the lineups and weather to ensure you have all active players going tonight!
- Shaun Marcum – Cleveland Indians
My pitchers haven’t let me down all week however I’m really going to roll the dice on Friday night by taking Shaun Marcum of the Cleveland Indians. We don’t have many top-tier pitchers going on Friday so I’m rolling with Marcum who has posted a 5.49 ERA with a 1.27 WHIP while striking out 21 batters in 19.2 IP. Marcum does have experience against the Orioles and outside of Adam Jones having success against him, he is holding the current Orioles lineup to just a .214 average over a span of 56 at-bats. Marcum has made only four starts on the season and really has only had one bad outing (2.2 IP, 7 ER against the Rangers) as in his other three starts has at least gone 5.0 innings in each and hasn’t given up more than 2 ER. Marcum is posting a 9.6 K/9 so far in 2015 and as Baltimore ranks 4th in MLB in total strikeouts against right-handed pitching, I think Marcum has good value tonight and is worth the risk at the very affordable price.
- Tyler Flowers – Chicago White Sox
I’m kicking myself as on Wednesday I was debating going with Flowers but went against it at the last moment and of course, he goes 3-5 with a double and a home-run. When looking at some matchups up this morning and knowing that I want to spend big money in my outfield tonight, Flowers once against came up and I’m not going against my gut this time. Flowers is hitting just .207 on the season with 3 homeruns and 13 RBI’s but is hitting .300 in June as of Friday. Flowers will be going against the left-hander Kyle Ryan of the Detroit Tigers on Friday and although is average is still low against lefties, he is slugging .429 against left-handed pitching on the season. Flowers has hit double-digits home runs in each of his last two seasons and for the price he is going to be my play tonight at the catchers position.
- Ryan Howard – Philadelphia Phillies
Ryan Howard finally started to look like the hitter of old in May as he hit .280 with 6 homeruns and 15 RBI’s and although he is once against struggling at the plate so far in June, I’m going to take a chance on him tonight as he has displayed power off Tim Lincecum of the San Francisco Giants in his career. In his career against Lincecum, however has posted just a 2.42 average but does have a 1.026 OPS with 4 homeruns and 7 RBI’s. So far in 2015, Howard has hit 9 of his 10 homeruns off right-handed pitching and I’m hoping he can connect with one tonight against the Giants.
- Dustin Pedroia – Boston Red Sox
I’m taking the “Laser Show” a lot as of late in my afternoon lineups and the scrappy second baseman has really been coming through as of late. Pedroia is hitting .303 on the season with 8 homeruns and 23 RBI’s and has been hot as of late hitting .333 with a homerun and 2 RBI’s over the past week. Pedroia has a great matchup against Scott Kazmir of the Oakland Athletics as in his career Pedroia has posted a .475 (19-40) average with 10 walks, 5 doubles, 2 homeruns and 10 RBI’s off the left-hander. Pedroia is hitting .351 at Fenway Park on the season and has fared well against Oakland pitching as over his past three seasons he is hitting .326 against the Athletics.
- Brandon Crawford – San Francisco Giants
Brandon Crawford has put together a nice season so far in 2015 as the shortstop has posted a .293 average with 8 homeruns and 37 RBI’s on the season. Crawford is hitting .273 over the past week but does have 2 homeruns and 5 RBI’s during that span. Crawford will be up against Jerome Williams of the Philadelphia Phillies on Friday and although he has limited experience against the right-hander, he is 1-2 lifetime with a triple and 2 RBI’s. Williams has really struggled on the season and has allowed LHB to hit .290 against in 2015. I think the Giants could have a good offensive day in Philadelphia on Friday and I’m hoping that Crawford is a big part of it.
- Alex Rodriguez – New York Yankees
Alex Rodriguez is having a better year at the plate than I expecting coming off his suspension in 2014 as the veteran is hitting .270 with 11 homeruns and 27 RBI’s so far in 2015. I’m taking Rodriguez tonight as he has posted a career .346 average and 1.469 OPS (5 homeruns, 7 RBI’s) in 26 total at bats against Jared Weaver of the Los Angeles Angels. Rodriguez has actually fared better against right-handed pitching on the season as he is posting a .294 average with 9 homeruns and 22 RBI’s. In his two seasons before his suspension, Rodriguez hit .309 against the Angels and as he is hitting .310 with a .963 OPS at Yankee Stadium in 2015, he is solid pick for the price tonight.
- Mike Trout – Los Angeles Angels
Mike Trout is posting a .289 average with 14 homeruns, 31 RBI’s and 8 SB so far in 2015 and although the reigning AL MVP is hitting just .227 over the past week, he does have 3 homeruns and 6 RBI’s in that span. I like Trout’s matchup tonight against a struggling Nathan Eovaldi of the New York Yankees as the right-hander has given up 26 hits in his last 16 IP. Trout has fared well against Eovaldi as in his career, Trout has posted a .667 (4-6) average with a double and RBI. Trout has a .947 OPS against righties on the season and has an incredible .410 average and 1.192 OPS at Yankee Stadium over his past three seasons.
- Jose Bautista – Toronto Blue Jays
Jose Bautista is hitting just .247 on the season but does have 8 homeruns and 32 RBI’s on the season and has been picking it up as of late hitting .348 over his past week. Bautista has an amazing matchup against Roberto Hernandez of the Houston Astros on Friday night as in his career he has posted a .412 (7-17) average and an incredible 1.604 OPS (3 doubles, 1 triple, 2 homeruns) against the right-hander. Hernandez is allowing righties to hit .280 against him on the season and as Bautista is currently swinging the bat well in midst of a 8-game hitting streak, I think he is a great play on Friday.
- Charlie Blackmon – Colorado Rockies
Charlie Blackmon’s price tag is a bit high, but I do look him tonight at home at Coors Field and going against Tom Koehler has struggled against LHB’s so far in 2015. On the season, Blackmon is hitting just .262 on the season but does have 7 homeruns, 20 RBI’s and 11 SB’s and is coming off a great game against the Dodgers on Wednesday in which he went 4-5 with 2 doubles, 3 runs, and a SB. Tom Koehler has allowed LHB to have a .510 slugging percentage and .873 OPS against him on the season and in his career, Blackmon has posted a .500 (3-6) average with a double. In his last three seasons, Blackmon has hit .330 at Coors field and for the fact that he can hit for power and also get SB’s makes him a valuable fantasy play.
