Here is my lineup for tonight’s games. Please note that I’m using the salary cap based on FanDuel prices.

Also, as this is written the day before/morning of the games, please check the lineups and weather to ensure you have all active players going tonight!

Pitcher – Trevor Bauer – Cleveland Indians

The Indians and Cubs got postponed due to rain last night, however, I’m going to stick with my Bauer pick that I had for 6/15. Here is my write-up and reasoning for Bauer from yesterday’s post:

“Trevor Bauer is having a great sophomore campaign so far in 2015 and although he can have control problems from time to time, the right-hander has still posted a solid 3.53 ERA and has 75 strikeouts in 74.0 IP. Bauer has a 1.24 WHIP on the season and although he struggled in his recent outing against Seattle, largely due to walks, I still like rolling with him tonight as Bauer has a great 9.1 K/9 ratio on the year and he is going against the Chicago Cubs who lead MLB in total strikeouts vs. RHP. Bauer has multiple 10+ strikeout performances so far in 2015 and if he has his control tonight, I could see a big game from Bauer.”

Catcher – Matt Wieters – Baltimore Orioles

Wieters came through for us yesterday with a 1-3 performance with a homerun and 3 RBI’s and as he once against will be hitting from the left-side of the plate against a struggling pitcher in the Philadelphia’s Jerome Williams, I’m going to roll with him again on Tuesday. Wieters missed both April and May recovering from Tommy John Surgery, however, since his return he is hitting .333 with 2 homeruns and 7 RBI’s on the season. Wieters hasn’t had too much success against Jerome Williams in his career, however, his one hit against the right-hander has been a home run. Wieters has a .400 average with a 1.314 OPS against RHP on the season and as he is at Camden Yards hitting from the left-side of the plate, he is a good option again tonight.

First Base – Adam Lind – Milwaukee Brewers

Adam Lind is having a good first season with the Brewers as the veteran first baseman is hitting .287 with 9 homeruns and 33 RBI’s so far on the season. Lind will be facing off against the right-handed Chris Young of the Kansas City Royals and although he is 0-3 lifetime against Young, Lind is hitting .298 with all 9 of his homeruns against RHP on the season. Lind has been great at Miller Park on the season as he has posted a .333 average and .995 OPS at home. Lind is hitting .318 over his past week and although Young has pitched well for Kansas City this year, I don’t think he has an arsenal that Lind won’t be able to handle and I think Lind, for the price tag, has great value on Tuesday.

Second Base – Ian Kinsler – Detroit Tigers

The veteran second baseman has really struggled for the majority of the 2015 as he comes into Tuesday’s matchup with just a .276 average with 1 homerun and 26 RBI’s. Although Kinsler has struggled, he has finally started to pick it up as of late as he has collected at least one hit in 9 of his last 10 games (5 multi-hit games). Kinsler will be up against Michael Lorenzen (4.01 ERA, 1.43 WHIP) of the Cincinnati Reds who is coming off his worst game of the season in which he gave up 5 ER’s and 2 homeruns in just 4.1 IP against the Cubs last Thursday. Kinsler has actually fared better against RHP on the season as he has posted a .289 average and .742 OPS compared to a .232 average and 599 OPS vs LHP. As I don’t feel that Lorenzen has much to offer and that Detroit has a very dangerous/powerful lineup behind Kinsler, I’m going to roll with Kinsler on Tuesday night.

Shortstop – J.J. Hardy – Baltimore Orioles

J.J. Hardy missed all of April due to injury and although he is only hitting .217 on the season with 2 homeruns and 11 RBI’s, Hardy has been hot as of late and has a good pitching matchup against Jerome Williams of the Philadelphia Phillies. Hardy currently is riding an 8 game hit-streak and in his career against the right-handed Williams, Hardy has posted a career .368 (7-19) average with a homerun and 3 RBI’s. Jerome Williams has allowed RHB to have a .343 average and .965 OPS him so far in 2015 and as Hardy does have enough pop in his bat to get us a homerun, I think he a good option for his price tonight.

Third Base – Manny Machado – Baltimore Orioles

I’m obviously hoping for Baltimore to have a decent offensive day as I’m going with another Oriole in Manny Machado as my third baseman tonight. Machado is having a nice season with Baltimore as he currently has a .282 average with 11 homeruns and 30 RBI’s on the season. Machado has been raking it as of late as he has posted a .407 average with 2 homeruns and 5 RBI’s over the past week. Similar to J.J. Hardy, Machado has had success against Jerome Williams of the Philadelphia Phillies as in his career, he has posted a .375 average and 1.250 OPS. As I mentioned in Hardy’s write-up, Williams is allowing RHB to hit .343 against him in 2015 and as Machado is hitting .295 with 7 homeruns at Camden Yards on the season, he is a solid pick tonight.

Outfield – Mike Trout – Los Angeles Angels

It’s never a bad thing to have Mike Trout in your lineup as the reigning AL-MVP is hitting .297 with 18 homeruns, 39 RBI’s, and 8 SB’s so far in 2015. Trout has a good matchup against Jeremy Hellickson of the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday as in his career, Trout has posted a .500 (2-4) average with a double and homerun off the right-hander. Trout is has a .298 average and .977 OPS against RHP on the season and is has a 1.096 OPS so far in the month of June. Hellickson has had trouble keeping the ball in the park so far in 2015 as in his 66.1 IP, he has allowed 10 homeruns. Although Hellickson has been better against RHB, Mike Trout is not your everyday RHB and I think Trout is going to go deep in this one tonight.

Outfield – Starling Marte – Pittsburgh Pirates

Starling Marte has been on absolute fire as of late hitting .517 (15-29) with a homerun and 6 RBI’s over the past week and now is posting a .284 average with 12 homeruns and 45 RBI’s on the season. Marte has collected at least three hits in each of his last 4 games and I don’t see why the streak needs to stop tonight as he has a good matchup against Jose Quintana of the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday. Marte has yet to face Quintana in his career but does have a .359 average and 1.185 OPS against LHP so far in 2015. Marte is averaging a homerun in every 7.8 AB’s against LHP in 2015 and as Quintana is allowing RHB to hit .311 against him on the season, you’ll want Marte in your lineups tonight.

Outfield – Gerardo Parra – Milwaukee Brewers

Since Khris Davis went down with an injury, Parra has been getting the starts in left field for the Brewers and I think he is a good pick tonight as I like his matchup against Chris Young of the Kansas Royals. Parra is hitting .277 on the season with 4 homeruns and 17 RBI’s and has fared well against the right-handed Young as in his career he is a perfect 3 for 3 with two RBI’s. Parra is hitting .280 against RHP on the season and has been better during night games as he has posted a .313 average and .875 OPS. As I wanted to go big with my other two OF spots and for the fact that I don’t believe Chris Young can continue pitching the way he has, I think Parra is good value pick for tonight.
