TV:

It’s back to business today for us fantasy baseball owners, which is a welcome return after the All-Star break. Before we get going, let’s check out some of the sleeper and waiver wire pickup options for the weekend. Here’s a closer look at the numbers.

Erasmo Ramirez, SP/RP, Tampa Bay Rays: Let’s start things off on the mound today. Ramirez has been a hot commodity in fantasy over the break, thanks to the fact that he logged six innings of one-run ball in a win during his last start.
That was Ramirez’s second six-inning, one-run win in a row, and he’s allowed just seven hits in that time. The Rays get the Blue Jays in Toronto starting today.

USA TODAY Sports

Kyle Hendricks, SP, Chicago Cubs: Moving on to the North Side of the Windy City, let’s visit with Hendricks. He logged a no-decision in his last start, allowing no earned on five hits against the White Sox.
Hendricks is 2-0 in his last three appearances, allowing no earned on 13 hits and walking just two in that time. He’ll get the start today in Atlanta against the Braves to try and keep it going.

Trevor Plouffe, 3B, Minnesota Twins: Plouffe has gotten a bit of attention over the break, since he posted a nice series against the Tigers. In that one, he put up five hits, four runs, a homer, two RBI and a steal in four games.
Plouffe is hitting .259 with 11 homers and 46 RBI so far this year. That’s not too shabby for a hot corner man who isn’t owned in that many leagues.

Alejandro De Aza, OF, Boston Red Sox: De Aza had a nice series against the Yankees, logging five hits, two runs, an RBI and a steal in three games at Fenway.
De Aza owns a .266 BA so far this year, with six homers and 26 RBI. He’s also got five steals. He’s definitely got some power potential if he can get on a nice run starting in L.A. today.

Kelly Johnson, 1B/3B/OF, Atlanta Braves: Back to that Cubs-Braves matchup this weekend, let’s visit with Johnson. He played well in Colorado, logging five hits, a run, a homer and four RBI in three starts.
Johnson owns a .275 BA so far this year with 33 RBI and nine homers. He’s definitely worth kicking the tires on if you’re a deeper-league owner.
