Fantasy Baseball 2015: Waiver Wire Update 9/8
Fantasy Baseball Daily Leagues: Sleeper Picks and Advice for Upcoming Matchups
September 8, 2015
It’s Tuesday, and that means it’s time once again to take a look at the fantasy baseball waiver wire. Each add becomes more and more important as the season winds down; we don’t have a whole lot of regular-season MLB mileage left.
Let’s take a closer look at the numbers and see if anyone’s right for your team’s stretch run.
Raisel Iglesias, SP, Cincinnati Reds: Despite his best efforts, Iglesias’ Reds haven’t been helping him out much. Still, he’s worth a fantasy look thanks to his 33 strikeouts over his last three outings.
Iglesias is 0-2 in that span, but has only allowed six earned runs total. He’ll get a home matchup against the Pirates today and looks like a nice fantasy add if you need an SP.

Carlos Rodon, SP/RP, Chicago White Sox: Let’s stick on the mound for a moment and visit with Rodon. He’s coming off a six-inning loss in Minnesota, but in that one he got no run support, allowing just two earned himself.
Rodon has six wins with a 4.10 ERA and 1.50 WHIP on the season. He’ll get a home matchup against the incoming Indians today.
Jayson Werth, OF, Washington Nationals: Werth is still owned in less than half the fantasy leagues out there, which is a little puzzling. In the Atlanta series, he bagged five hits with four runs, a homer and three RBI over four games. He posted two hits and an RBI yesterday.
Werth has been playing well over the past couple of weeks, so he’s definitely worth a look in fantasy. After this Mets series, he’ll take his talents to South Beach to visit the Marlins.
Logan Morrison, 1B/OF, Seattle Mariners: Morrison has gained a little fantasy exposure recently, and it’s led to a few adds here and there. He had a good series in Oakland, with five hits, two runs, a homer and five RBI over a three-game span. He came up empty yesterday, though.
Morrison’s BA is still pretty putrid, but he’s doing his best to raise it in these closing weeks. He gets the Rangers and Rockies at home this week.
Didi Gregorius, 2B/SS, New York Yankees: We’ve talked about Gregorius quite a bit as of late, and he keeps producing on the field. In the last two games of the Rays series, he posted three hits, two runs and a pair of RBI. He logged another hit yesterday.
Gregorius has logged consistent runs, RBI and multi-hit games over the past couple of weeks, making him relevant in fantasy again. He’s still widely available and will play the Orioles and Blue Jays this week.
