Fantasy Football 2015: Week 8 Key Matchups
Taking a Look at the Week 8 Favorable Matchups and Waiver Wire Trends
October 28, 2015
Week 8 in the NFL is nearly upon us, so it’s time for us fantasy football owners to start perusing our lineups to see where we can tinker. That said, let’s take a look at the waiver wire and see if we can find a few lesser-known players who have favorable matchups this weekend.
New York Giants Defense: Let’s start out on the defensive side of the ball today and take a look at the Giants. They’re coming off a nice game against Dallas, posting a sack, three picks, a fumble and a TD.
Over the last five games, the Giants have posted at least nine fantasy points four times. They’ll get a mid-range matchup this weekend against the Saints in New Orleans.

Atlanta Falcons Defense: While we’re looking at defense, we might as well check out the Falcons. They put up nine points in their last outing, with a sack, two picks and seven points allowed.
Atlanta gets a nice couple of matchups the next two weeks, starting Sunday against the Buccaneers. The Falcons have put up at least nine points in three of the last four weeks and should do well here.
Nate Washington, WR, Houston Texans: Washington is available in the vast majority of fantasy leagues, and he’s a nice pickup this week since he’s coming off a nine-reception, 127-yard, 2-TD effort against Miami.
Washington and the Texans will host the Titans this week, and the team will probably be throwing more with no Arian Foster on the roster.
Ryan Fitzpatrick, QB, New York Jets: Need a QB? Fitzpatrick is a pretty decent fill-in. He’s been playing well since the bye, with four passing touchdowns and just one interception in his past two games.
The Jets will head to Oakland this weekend for a matchup against the Raiders. Expect the team to open things up a bit more with Chris Ivory ailing. Fitzpatrick should be good for a couple of passing scores again.
James Starks, RB, Green Bay Packers: We like Starks pretty well this week, and he’s probably out of a lot of people’s memories thanks to a bye in Week 7. Before that, he posted 23.7 fantasy points against the Chargers, out-carrying Eddie Lacy 10 to 4.
We may be looking at more of a timeshare situation in the Green Bay backfield, which is great news for Lacy. He’ll be in Denver this weekend in a marquis matchup against the undefeated Broncos.
