Fantasy Football 2015: Injury Update 12/7
Fantasy Football Injury News: Week 14 Outlook on Ailing Players
December 7, 2015
It’s a fantasy football Monday, and around here that means it’s time for our weekly look at some of the injured NFL stars out there. We’ve got a fresh crop of new and ongoing injury situations to take a look at this morning, so let’s visit each guy and see what we might be expecting from our rosters heading into Week 14.
C.J. Anderson had to come out of yesterday’s game due to an ankle injury. He left in the second quarter and never came back in.
For what it’s worth, Anderson says his ankle will be fine and isn’t treating it as a big deal. Sources close to the team believe he was kept out of action more as a precaution than anything.
Still, if you’re an Anderson owner, you’ll want to keep a close eye on his status this week, starting on Wednesday with the next likely update.

Vernon Davis was also injured yesterday, adding to the Broncos’ long list of concerns. He was diagnosed with a concussion and thus was not able to return to the game after two catches and 25 yards on three targets.
Davis hasn’t quite found his footing statistically with the Broncos, as the circumstances around him haven’t been ideal. He’ll have to make it through protocol before getting back on the field. Until then, it’ll be Owen Daniels as the team’s primary TE.
The Cardinals have a couple of new injury concerns this morning as well. First off, there’s Jermaine Gresham, who left yesterday’s win over the Rams with a left knee injury. He had one grab for 13 yards before leaving, and there’s not a lot of info out there on him just yet.
As for Stepfan Taylor, he came out with a shoulder injury. Likewise, there’s not much info on him either, so we’ll have to keep watch this week. Taylor is only relevant in extremely deep leagues; he was out-touched by Kerwynn Williams as the No. 2 back yesterday.
Travis Benjamin came out of yesterday’s game due to a shoulder injury, suffered during the first half. He was consequently ruled out in the third quarter.
Benjamin is one of the few relevant fantasy plays on the Browns offense, so this is quite disturbing. We’ll have to wait and see how he does in practice this week.
Matt Hasselbeck came out late in his team’s blowout loss to the Steelers yesterday, thanks to neck/shoulder pain.
Hasselbeck said he’s not sure if he’ll be ready for Week 14; he got hit on the top of the head and suffered some sort of neck strain. He’ll get more tests today. If he can’t go, it’ll be Charlie Whitehurst, who isn’t a good fantasy option in any format.
Those owners who rolled with Stevie Johnson this week were shut down with a big goose-egg. He received zero targets before leaving the game with a groin injury, adding to a long list of ailing Chargers pass-catchers.
Johnson was just beginning to gain some statistical steam, so this is definitely a letdown. With him gone, the only healthy receivers the Chargers have are Malcom Floyd and Javontee Herndon.
