Fantasy Hockey 2015-16: Waiver Wire Update 12/10
Fantasy Hockey Daily Leagues: Sleeper Picks and Advice for Tonight's Matchups
December 10, 2015
We’ve got some pretty intense NHL action coming our way over the next few days, so this morning is a great time to check out the fantasy hockey waiver wire and see which players are trending out there. Here’s a closer look at the numbers so you can see if anyone’s right for your daily or seasonal leagues.
Valeri Nichushkin, RW, Dallas Stars: Nichushkin doesn’t play until tomorrow night, but you’ll want to get in on the action as soon as possible. He’s coming off a great game against the Hurricanes, with a goal and two assists alongside a plus-3 rating.
That gives Nichushkin a total of five assists and two goals over his last five games. He’s a nice pickup for tomorrow against the Flyers and Saturday in St. Louis.

Karri Ramo, G, Calgary Flames: Ramo isn’t so much of a fantasy bottom-dweller anymore; he’s on quite a roll right now. He’s coming off a win against the Sharks, posting 31 saves on 33 shots for the Flames’ third straight win.
Ramo seems to be all set as the No. 1 guy in Calgary, and is a nice lower-end matchup play. The Flames will get Buffalo at home tonight.
Marcus Johansson, C/LW/RW, Washington Capitals: Johansson fought off a lower-body injury earlier this week and got back on the ice against the Red Wings. He dropped two assists and a plus-1 rating with four shots on goal in that victory.
Johansson has four assists and two goals in his last five games. He’s also rocking a plus-9 rating thus far. He’ll be back on the ice against the Panthers tonight.
Frans Nielsen, C, New York Islanders: Nielsen doesn’t play for a couple of days, but we’ll go ahead and visit with him since he’s near the top of the waiver wire charts and coming off a two-goal game in Philadelphia during his last outing. He had four shots on goal in that one.
Nielsen has 11 goals and 10 assists on the season right now, and is on pace for a career campaign. He will next play Columbus on the road Saturday evening.
Connor Hellebuyck, G, Winnipeg Jets: Let’s finish up with another goaltender in the rookie Hellebuyck, who has been pretty darn impressive so far. He’s coming off a nice outing against the Caps, allowing just one goal on 38 shots.
Hellebuyck now has three wins and a GAA of 0.97 so far. He’s a nice low-end fantasy pickup anytime he’s between the pipes. The Jets will get the Jackets at home tonight.
