Fantasy Hockey 2015-16: Waiver Wire Update 1/7
Fantasy Hockey Daily Leagues: Sleeper Picks and Advice for Tonight's Matchups
January 7, 2016
We’ve got a pretty busy evening of NHL hockey coming our way tonight, so this morning is a good time to take a look at the fantasy waiver wire. There are plenty of notable names out there who have been trending lately, so let’s take a closer look at the numbers and see if anyone’s right for your seasonal or daily fantasy league.
Shane Doan, LW/RW, Arizona Coyotes: It’s been a few days since Doan has been on the ice, so let’s refresh our collective memory on him. He’s coming out of a two-goal game in Vancouver, coming away with five shots and a plus-1 rating in that one.
Doan has seven goals in his last four appearances, posting a plus-5 rating in that span. Overall, he’s got 15 scores and six helpers. He’ll take his hot streak into Calgary tonight.

Tyler Myers, D, Winnipeg Jets: Myers’ last couple of games has him on the waiver wire radar this week. In that span, he’s got a goal and two assists. Over his last five, he has a plus-5 rating.
Myers had a four-game points drought there at the end of December but has bounced back. Over the course of the season he’s posted five goals, 12 assists and a plus-4 rating. He will be in Dallas this evening.
Connor Hellebuyck, G, Winnipeg Jets: Let’s stick with the Jets for a moment and check out Hellebuyck, who is one of the top goalie adds right now. He put up another win in his last outing, allowing one goal in a 4-1 decision in Nashville, he had 43 saves in that one.
Hellebuyck has been the team’s best goalie thus far, and from the sound of it they’ll be putting him out there more often moving forward. He has nine wins with a 1.93 GAA thus far.
Louis Domingue, G, Arizona Coyotes: A little further down the list we have Domingue, who is another realistic goalie option in fantasy terms. He allowed a pair of goals in his last outing, snagging 35 saves in Vancouver.
Domingue has wins in two of his last three appearances, and at least 35 saves in all three of those. He’s got four wins with a 2.49 GAA and makes a nice low-end goalie option if you’re in the market.
Pierre-Alexandr Parenteau, RW, Toronto Maple Leafs: Parenteau has been on quite a run lately, and it continued last night. He put up two goals and a plus-2 rating with four shots on goal in the Leafs’ 4-0 shutout win over Anaheim.
Parenteau now has 11 goals and 10 assists so far this year. He’s headed for a career-high mark in scoring and makes a great lower-end pickup right now. He’ll be in L.A. for the Kings tonight.
