Fantasy Hockey Daily Leagues: Sleeper Picks and Advice for Tonight's Matchups
February 11, 2016
There’s a big NHL slate coming up tonight, so make sure to get your lineups set in seasonal and daily fantasy hockey leagues. With that in mind, let’s visit the waiver wire and see which players are trending as adds right now.
Marcus Johansson, C/LW/RW, Washington Capitals: Johansson was great in his return to the lineup after a four-game absence Tuesday (upper-body injury). He logged a goal, two assists and a plus-3 rating in a 5-3 victory against the Preds.
Johansson and the Caps are rolling right now, with four straight wins. He’s got 14 goals and 19 assists so far this year and is a nice pickup for tonight in Minnesota.
USA TODAY Sports
Tomas Plekanec, C, Montreal Canadiens: Plekanec is still available in about 1/3 of seasonal leagues out there, and should definitely be picked up in most dailies. He’s coming of two goals, an assist and a plus-3 rating against Tampa.
In the last four games, Plekanec has five assists and three goals with a plus-6 mark. He’s hot right now heading into Buffalo, which happens tomorrow.
Alec Martinez, D, Los Angeles Kings: Over the last three games, Martinez has become a pretty nice fantasy target off the waiver wire. He didn’t record a point in his last appearance in Boston, but did put up a plus-2 rating.
Martinez has two goals and an assist in his last three games. On the season, he has seven goals, 12 assists and a super plus-16 rating. He’s in New York for the Isles tonight.
Reilly Smith, LW/RW, Florida Panthers: Smith and the Panthers don’t play until tomorrow, but you should keep an eye on him now. He’s coming off two goals, an assist and a plus-2 mark in Buffalo.
Smith has recorded an impressive six goals and five assists in his last nine games alone. He’s got 18 goals, 16 assists and a plus-2 rating so far. He will be at home against the Blues tomorrow.
Patrick Eaves, LW/RW, Dallas Stars: Eaves is a deep-league add right now, but could provide some nice value in that capacity. He posted a goal and an assist in Minnesota, which gives him three assists and a score in his last three.
While Eaves is playing on this line, he’s got some super potential on the lower end. He and the Stars have won four of their last five and will try to get another one tonight in Chicago.
