Fantasy Basketball 2015-16: Waiver Wire Update 3/4
Fantasy Basketball Daily Leagues: Sleeper Picks and Advice for Tonight's Matchups
March 4, 2016
We have a nice NBA schedule ahead of us this evening, so this morning marks a solid opportunity to check out some of the notable players out there on the waiver wire in seasonal and daily fantasy basketball leagues. Here’s a closer look at the stats so you can see if anybody’s right for your team.
D.J. Augustin, PG, Denver Nuggets: Augustin exploded onto the fantasy basketball radar this week with a huge 26-point outing against the Lakers. He also provided two rebounds, five assists and a steal in that one.
That makes three straight double-digit outings for Augustin, and he’s a nice pickup on the low end for point guards. He’s at home against the Nets tonight.

Mario Hezonja, SG, Orlando Magic: Hezonja lit up the Bulls in his last appearance, logging a career-high 21 points, five rebounds, two assists, a steal, a block and three 3-pointers.
That gives Hezonja two double-digit scoring outings in his last three games. With Evan Fournier questionable for tonight (wrist) against the Suns, Hezonja makes a nice sleeper prospect.
Jerryd Bayless, PG/SG, Milwaukee Bucks: Bayless posted 11 points, three rebounds and five assists against the Pacers, which gives him 29 points, six boards and nine assists in his last two games.
Bayless’ value is tied to the presence (or lack thereof) of Michael Carter-Williams. He won’t get enough minutes to be fantasy relevant if he has to fight with MCW and O.J. Mayo for playing time. He’s at home against the T-Wolves tonight.
Isaiah Canaan, PG, Philadelphia 76ers: Canaan has been pretty impressive lately, and he’s coming off a 17-point outing against the Hornets with two steals and four 3-pointers.
Canaan isn’t much for other stats--maybe a few rebounds here and there--but will get you some cheap 3-pointers and scoring. He starts off a home-and-home against the Heat tonight.
Bobby Portis, PF/C, Chicago Bulls: Portis is an interesting pickup right now. He played 26 minutes in Orlando his last time out, scoring nine with six rebounds and five assists.
Portis has been pumping in some nice lower-end stats recently, even snagging a double-double every so often. With Taj Gibson banged up, he’s a prudent grab for those looking for big-man help. He’s at home against Houston tomorrow.
