Fantasy Baseball Update 5/27/16: Key Matchups This Weekend
Fantasy Baseball Daily Leagues: Sleeper Picks and Advice for Upcoming Matchups
May 27, 2016
The MLB will be bringing us their big weekend series starting today, so this morning is a good time to check out some of the notable waiver wire adds and matchup plays in the world of fantasy baseball. Let’s examine the numbers and see if anyone makes sense for your roster.
Julio Urias, SP, Los Angeles Dodgers: Urias is an interesting add right now. He’ll be making his major league debut today for the Dodgers as they face the Mets in New York.
Urias is a red-hot pitching prospect, and Dodgers fans have been chomping at the bit to get a look at him with the big club. There’s no real plan after today’s start (he’s filling in for an injured Alex Wood), but we’ll see what happens.

Michael Fulmer, SP, Detroit Tigers: Let’s stick on the mound for a minute and check out Fulmer, who is widely available in most fantasy leagues out there. He’s coming off a 7-inning start against the Rays, giving up just one run and striking out 11 batters.
That gives Fulmer three wins this year with a 5.13 ERA and a 1.63 WHIP on the year. He’ll get another start today in Oakland against the A’s.
Nomar Mazara, OF, Texas Rangers: Mazara is still available in about a third of the fantasy leagues out there, so grab him while you can. He’s currently sitting on a four-game hit streak, during which he’s supplied eight hits, four runs, three homers and eight RBI.
Mazara has managed a .320 BA with eight homers and 21 RBI so far this year. He’s a must-add guy for the Pirates series if you can get him.
Khris Davis, OF, Oakland Athletics: Davis is another guy who’s available in about a third of the fantasy leagues out there. In the last two games, he’s got a solo homer, two RBI and three hits to his credit.
Davis holds a wimpy .232 BA, but also has 13 homers and 31 RBI on the season. When he hits, it goes over the wall. He’ll be at home against the Tigers this weekend.
Brandon Guyer, OF, Tampa Bay Rays: We’ll finish up in the outfield again and visit with Guyer. He’s available in over 90 percent of the fantasy leagues out there and just slapped a solo homer (his fifth of the year) in the Miami finale.
Guyer is hitting a nice .318 this season, and has 13 RBI to his credit. He’s a nice low-end add this weekend against the Yankees.
