We’ve reached another weekend in MLB action, and it’s a great time to check out some of the notable waiver wire adds in the world of fantasy baseball. We’ve got a list of trending players for you to peruse this morning, so let’s take a closer look at the numbers.

Hyun-Jin Ryu, SP, Los Angeles Dodgers: Now’s the time for a speculative pickup on Ryu, who remains on track to make his season debut toward the middle of next month.
Ryu has made three rehab starts in his recovery from shoulder and groin issues and should hit the ground running once he gets back to the majors.

Fantasy Baseball 2016: Waiver Wire Update 5/28

Jurickson Profar, 2B/SS, Texas Rangers: Profar got the call-up yesterday from Triple-A, and will be filling in for Rougned Odor (seven-game suspension) for the time-being. He had one hit yesterday.
Profar may end up as trade bait if he can post some solid stats over the next several days. If he moves, he could pick up some solid playing time. Deeper-league owners need to give him a look now.

Matt Boyd, SP, Detroit Tigers: In low-end pitcher pickups, Boyd is proving himself a viable play for a spot start today against the A’s in Oakland.
Filling in for the injured Jordan Zimmerman (groin), Boyd will get the call-up from Triple-A for at least one spot start. He’s got a nice 2.06 ERA in eight starts for Toledo this season.

Nomar Mazara, OF, Texas Rangers: Mazara is still available in almost a third of the leagues out there, but that will continue to shrink if he keeps hitting. Through the Angels series, he had a four-game hit streak with eight hits, four runs, two homers and eight RBI. He had two hits yesterday to keep it going.
Mazara has some great power number potential and could be a great pickup for those owners in need.

Logan Morrison, 1B, Tampa Bay Rays: Morrison has been showing his stuff this week. Through the Miami series, he had a five-game hit streak with four runs, two homers and six RBI in that span. He came up empty yesterday, though.
As long as Morrison is riding a hot streak, he’s worth streaming in deeper formats. That said, this probably won’t last.
