Fantasy Baseball Update 6/6/16: Key Matchups Early This Week
Fantasy Baseball Daily Leagues: Sleeper Picks and Advice for Upcoming Matchups
June 6, 2016
Today marks a shift in the MLB, and all the early-week series will be kicking off around the league. That said, let’s look at things from a fantasy baseball perspective and see who the hot waiver wire trends and pickups are heading into these fresh games. Here’s a closer look at the numbers.
Matt Shoemaker, SP, Los Angeles Angels: Shoemaker has been a hot pickup over his past few starts, and he’s at the top of the charts once more. He’s coming off seven innings against the Tigers, allowing two runs in a tough-luck loss.
On the season, Shoemaker has a 5.50 ERA with a 1.43 WHIP, but he’s been cooking in his last three starts. He’ll get the Yankees today in a very winnable game.

Colby Lewis, SP, Texas Rangers: Let’s stick on the mound and visit with Lewis, who has been trending recently as well. He’s coming off six clean innings against the Indians, grabbing his third win in a row.
Lewis sports a 3.09 ERA with a 1.11 WHIP on the season, and aside from his May 25 start, he’s been throwing very well lately. He gets the Astros today.
Will Harris, RP, Houston Astros: Need saves? Harris is the guy to grab right now, and he’s available in about 60 percent of the leagues out there. He bagged his first save of the year yesterday with a clean ninth against the A’s.
Harris has vaulted himself into the favorite spot for saves right now in Houston, and he sports a nifty 0.34 ERA and a 0.71 WHIP go get him before the Rangers series starts.
Trayce Thompson, OF, Los Angeles Dodgers: We’ve examined Thompson a couple of times over the past week or so, and he’s trending again. Yesterday against the Braves, he logged two more runs with a hit in a dominant Dodgers win.
Thompson has produced five runs, two homers and three steals in his past four games. He’ll get the Rockies starting today.
Tyler Naquin, OF, Cleveland Indians: Let’s finish up in the outfield once again and visit with Naquin. He’s coming off a 2-for-2 game yesterday that produced a solo homer.
In his last four games, Naquin has been crushing with six hits, four runs, three homers and five RBI. He’s available in just about every fantasy league. He’ll be in Seattle starting today.
