Fantasy Football Update 10/8/16: Week 6 Key Matchups
Fantasy Football Sleepers and Waiver Wire Picks for Week 5
October 8, 2016
With Week 6 in the NFL resuming tomorrow, it’s time to hit up the fantasy football waiver wire to see if you can make any last-minute additions. Let’s check out the notable adds and the trending matchup plays out there and see who’s available.
Richard Rodgers, TE, Green Bay Packers: The Packers were on a bye last week, so they’re off a lot of people’s minds. The good news is that Rodgers has increased his fantasy output in every game this year, culminating with a touchdown in week three.

Rodgers and the Packers will face off against the Jets in a nice matchup Sunday, and he’s got a great shot at getting into the end zone again.
Jalen Richard, RB, Oakland Raiders: With Latavius Murray ailing, Richard will likely be splitting the load with DeAndre Washington for the time being.
That’s good news if you need a running back, as Oakland will face the Chargers on Sunday, and San Diego has given up the third-most fantasy points to opposing RBs this year.
Derek Anderson, QB, Carolina Panthers: This is a speculative pick as of right now, but if Cam Newton (concussion) can’t go Monday night against the Buccaneers, it’ll be Anderson’s show to run.
Anderson is a must-grab for Newton owners right now, and a dice-roll for other since it’s a Monday game. Still, whichever QB goes will have a nice matchup against the Bucs, who have given up the seventh-most fantasy points to QBs this year.
Washington Redskins Defense: If you’re in need of a defense right now, the Redskins are a great pickup heading into Week 6. They’re coming off two consecutive eight-point performances and get a pretty good matchup against the Ravens on Sunday.
The Redskins are projected 8-9 points on defense this week, and could easily surpass that if they can focus up on stopping the run (4.9 YPC allowed).
Phillip Dorsett, WR, Indianapolis Colts: If you can still get him (or if you have him already and are on the fence), Dorsett looks like a good start this week. He’s coming off his season-high in fantasy production last week with one grab for 64 yards and a TD.
Dorsett has been getting a handful of targets each game, and he’s usually coming away with big yardage on each catch. He’ll face the Bears in a mid-range matchup Sunday.
